Whoah..what an update we have for you!

Firstly, lets start with the bug fixes!

The Alliance Forum Board(s) have received some work, with alot of the functions cleaned up and fixed.

The Alliance Alert feature has also received some attention, no more nasty coding showing when you send them out.

Moving onto perks.. you have new perks, and some revised perks!

You have 5 new perks!

You have a new Forum Board perk; giving you the option to add a second forum board to your alliance.

You have a new Poll perk; giving you the options to setup questions/options and allow your Alliance Members to vote.

You have a new News Anchor perk; giving you the option to setup your Mascot and inform your Alliance Members of the latest Alliance News.

You have a new Game perk; giving you the option to setup Alliance Games for your Alliance Members. You are able to set MC rewards, deductable from the Alliance Account.

..and finally, You have a new shop perk; allowing your Alliance Members to donate items, allowing you to set the prices which will make them appear in the Alliance Shop for all our Alliance Members to purchase. MC from the items sold in added to the Alliance Account.

** You maybe wondering about your Alliance Circle and extra help. They have not been overlooked. Alliance Circle Perks are continuing to be worked on due to the amount of coding changes to admin to faciliate.

I come before you today, to announce that the SPNHM (Society for the Preservation of the Natural Habitats of MisticPals) is holding our first ever drive to collect these poor unfortunate souls and return them to a special reserve in the wilds of Mistica where they can frolic and enjoy all that life has to offer.

Your efforts will benefit your Alliance, so take special care which Alliance you have chosen as your Primary. This is the Alliance that will reap the rewards for those Pals that you turn in.

You will receive more points for the rarer pets that you turn in, and there will be rewards for our top Alliance that donates the most to the cause.

It seems like that dashing Jinx, Mr. Jasper (and his trusty hat, Gregory), has returned from... wherever it is he goes in the offseason! I wonder what he's got to say this time...



"Hello, Mistica! Been collecting those delicious sweet treats for me? Haha! And no doubt getting pranked a bit in the process! But it's all in good fun, you know. So, I do hope you've been saving up your candy and not letting your pets eat all of it, because my shop is open once again! Give me your candy, your tokens of Lanturnacht spirit, and I'll tally up your points. And what can you do with these points, you ask? You can trade them in for fantastic items found no where else in Mistica, collected by yours truly! Ha, proceed with caution, though, my friends. Some of them do bite.

I may be a bit scarce around the shop myself... I have some rather important business to attend to while I'm in town. But never fear, someone will always be there to take your candy! Heeheehee!"

The third and last day of Jahzara's tale was upon her, and the fortune-teller did not disappoint. Wearing her usual knowing little smirk the woman sat once again, and as before, a small crowd had soon gathered around her. She was patient and waited until every straggler had settled down, then let silence fall for a few seconds, allowing anticipation to build.

"We come finally," she intoned, and it was as if her audience's ears had pricked up visibly, "to the very end of Lanturnaucht's tale. Jack, having frightened the malicious phantom who had attacked his dear sister, spoke before the entire village. In one hand he held a pommekin...but it was unlike anything seen before.

The inside glowed! The settlers marveled at the frightening thing as Jack began to explain. He had hollowed out the inside and placed within it a brightly burning candle, then on the face of the pommekin, carved a pair of evil looking eyes and a wide, jagged mouth. Light and a pommekin, the phantom's two fears, together in one!

Well, the villagers were astonished, and there was no argument: they set to work immediately, hollowing out pommekins, gathering candles, and carving the most horrific faces they could think of onto the fruits. Then they placed them around the outside of their village and around their homes, so the night glowed with the fitfully flickering lights of hundreds of small candles.

And that night...was silent. As was the day after." Jahzara smiled and she opened her mouth wide, allowing her voice to carry loudly over the people sitting around her. "The settlers had won! The phantoms never visited again, except to creep along the edges of the village, snarling but unable to cause any harm. The candle-filled pommekins were called Jack O' Lanterns in honor of their creator. Years later Darkwood Hollow would be tame enough for the lanterns to not be needed, and that, my dears, is how our beloved Lanturnaucht came about."

The storyteller stood abruptly, fixing her listeners with bright, knowing eyes. With a small chuckle Jahzara swept away, her skirts swirling about her ankles, and she was lost in the darkness once again.

In her place a well-dressed Koko suddenly appeared! The audience that had been silently enraptured by Jahzara's tale now looked startled, and Albrecht von Emmerich smirked widely at them all, twirling oily-looking mustaches between the thick fingers attached to his long ears.

"A thrilling tale indeed," he said, and his grin revealed a number of little white teeth, all startlingly sharp looking, "and worthy of celebration! I've come once again, my friends, to help you...celebrate," Albrecht chuckled darkly, "My Chamber of Evil has opened once again in honor of Lanturnaucht, and I invite you all to visit! Great wonders await you...if you can find your way. Old treasures and new lie within. Are you game?

I would like to remind you that my warnings from last year are still quite valid today! You may lose an item, hit points, or moves...but those are easily regained by wandering Mistica, yes? So there really isn't much to worry about!" The nocturnal koko bowed low, almost mockingly, then turned away, still chuckling...

Elsewhere in Mistica; the Game Garden has undergone some changes! That Hall of Fame has never been, in a hall, nor very famous. So, we have added a new feature in its place. You can now earn winnings according to your very own successes!. There is a "ladder" so to speak (only it's not really ladder, nor does it speak). As you win games in succession, in each area, you can gain bonus MC. Lose a game, break your streak and back to the bottom you go!

You will be pleased to know the clock issue has been fixed in a timely fashion, pun intended. The maze is now rewarding the clocks as it should be.

Jahzara arranged herself once more by her archaic fire pit, pulling at and smoothing out her colorful, voluminous skirts as she sat. The woman was quite aware of the eyes glued to her as listeners began gathering again, all eager for the rest of Lanturnaucht’s tale. Jahzara fixed them all with a sly little smile and spoke.


“Last I left you,” she began, her low, hypnotic voice carrying easily, so every ear heard clearly, “our story had barely begun. Phantoms were terrorizing the innocent, new settlers of Darkwood Hollow. They had conquered their fear of the daylight and were not restricting their attacks to the moonlit hours anymore. Settlers found themselves pelted with pommes every hour of the day; it was relentless, merciless…yet no one had risen up to fight back.” Jahzara’s smile widened; she paused, letting her words bury themselves deeper into her audience’s minds.

“Then a young Mistican named Jill was struck hard on the head with a clockwork pomme. Her older brother, Jack, became enraged at the unprovoked attack. His sister was sweet, docile…and how dare anyone, he thundered, attack her!” Jahzara’s voice had risen powerfully, but then her volume suddenly dropped. Her listeners leaned in closer. “Impulsive and angry, Jack hefted a pommekin and hurled it at the cackling phantom with all his strength - and it drove the creature away!

The cause…well, no one could really understand it, but it seemed that the phantoms feared pommekins. Jack concocted a brilliant plan…and prepared to address the entire group of settlers - the lone, brave soul willing to stand up for the beaten down Misticans.” And Jahzara stopped there, much to her audience’s consternation. She simply smiled her serene, mysterious little smile at their protests and outbursts, standing gracefully and smoothing out her skirts once again, obviously preparing to leave. “I will be back with the ending tomorrow,” she said, “so use this time to think on what I have already said.” With that, Jahzara turned and swept away from the fire, swallowed by darkness.

Jahzara may have deserted us until tomorrow, but there’s more good news coming! Two new wonderful writers and two artists have been added to our staff. Congratulations to…

The reclusive Jahzara has decided to grace us Misticans with her eerie appearance once again to tell the story of Lanturnaucht. She settled down around an old fashioned fire pit, her eyes almost glowing in the fitful orange light. A small, knowing little smile played across her face as she watched the listeners gather around her.

“Once again,” she began in a low voice, almost a whisper, so everyone’s ears pricked and they leaned in closer, “I’ve come to regale you with the tale of Lanturnaucht - there are new faces from last year, after all…” She smiled slightly wider. “My telling will, I believe, be shorter this time, so mind you listen closely.” Her voice hadn’t raised at all, but something in her eyes said she meant every word as though it’d been shouted.

“Darkwood Hollow,” she continued in a louder voice that seemed to resound around her, enrapturing her audience, “was not always so tame. When the first settlers came here years ago, years before Lanturnaucht was even thought of, it was a treacherous place for those who…did not belong. Your forefathers faced many perils to make even our small part of the woods safe, and one of them brought about this celebration.

Phantoms were terrorizing the humble settlers, you see. Their home had not been abused in any manner but they seemed to find it…entertaining…to come out in the dead of night, when the air was chill and the forest floor was black, the moonlight blocked by the forest’s thick, leafy canopy. The phantoms would take handfuls of pommes from the trees and hurl them mercilessly…many of the settlers took injuries because of it, and they would wake every morning to see their small wooden cabins damaged - sometimes partly caved in - from the constant barrage of pommes. This only happened at night; the phantoms seemed to fear the sunrise, and for this the settlers were grateful.” Here Jahzara paused, her bright eyes fixing those before her with a hard, piercing stare to be sure they were paying attention.

“But soon the phantoms conquered the light,” she said in almost a whisper, and the eyes of her audience widened, “and the settlers found themselves trapped, facing the terrors both day and night.” She fell silent and her smirk deepened. “And here…is where I leave you, for now,” she said finally, chuckling in a knowing sort of way, confident her audience would come back for more, “I believe there is something else to announce, after all…”


Jahzara is right, of course; there is indeed something special happening: a long awaited release of the noble Stignightus! These pets will be available for creation throughout the day in batches, so if you don’t catch one, keep checking back! Make sure to keep an eye on Zulime as well, because she will be stocking Bewitched Stignightus Poppets for the next three days. If you’re impatient, of course, you can always spend 50 credits and snag one from the Credit Shop, as they’re stocking for three days there as well.

"This is Ken Kratork, bringing you some news of great importance.

Over our Mistican lives, our toys have been almost magical in the longevity of their lives. We could play with them endlessly, and they always appeared to be brand new! Toyboxes overflowed, the toystore couldn't sell any stock, because the toys refused to wear out!

Then this morning, a miraculous thing happened. I was playing with my errr.. My son was playing with his favorite cheran action figure, and it well. Stopped swiping! So please be aware Misticans, that the charmed lives of our toys are now in peril. Low rarity toys seem most affected, it seems you only get one use out of them now! Premium toys do not seem to be caught in this madness thank goodness."

Ken straightens his tie and collections himself.

"In other news, Door knockers seem to be popping up on profiles all over Mistica. It seems that Trick or Treat season is upon us, and everyone is going crazy for the candy treats. Jasper has not opened his shop yet to collect the sweets, but there are unsubstantiated rumors that insist that his return is imminent. Keep your eyes peeled Mistica and enjoy your trick or treating!"

Here you may change your Tricks to Treats Ratio, your knocker and whether to participate in this event. Please note that if you hide your knocker, you will be prevented from trick or treating at other profiles.



A few notes as well, this would be an excellent time to use your Champion Dusts hidden away. Champions have certain perks during this exciting holiday season: Reduced time between Trick or Treats, (30 mins instead of 60), and they have access to premium door knockers as well!

Morning Misticans! Fancy a little bit of Vending action?

You will be pleased to know you are able to get your hands on items otherwise unavailable until that special time of year. That's right; you are able to get yourself a Vending Token from the Credit Shop to insert into the Vending Machine.

That means every item from previous Treasure Bags has been placed in the Vending Machin to give you that extra chance to attaining those special items. You will be amazed at how much we could fit into this thing!

Note 2: Several of you have already noticed, but for those that haven't. Arielle and Jeremy have been working together to sort out the plushie inventory that got mixed up. All "Normal" color pet plushies will be found in Cuddly Stuffies and all non-species, and box themed plushies will be available in Plushie Domain, and of course, all "simian" species will be in Tribal Trades, regular, and box themed.

Great news, Arielle has just informed us that a new shipment of ultra deluxe plushies has just arrived.

Only 20 credits ensures a safe transfer of your pet to another member.

You'll want to pack up all their things, and send them happily on their way!

Make sure to tuck a blanky if they are prone to home sickness!

Pandoria pondered the plight of those pets affected so far by the power of the Phantom and Lanturn Boxes. As she went through the list in her mind, of those affected, she noticed that the scales were tipped in favor of the Lanturn pets.

Yes Mistica, it's October again. A month where you shiver as the darkness descends each evening. When every sound and shadow seems to hold sinister intent at those walking after the comforting light of the sun has dipped beyond the horizon.

What does this all mean? 

It means that Lanturnacht draws near, and when the darkness envelopes our world on that evening, the veil between this world and what lies beyond is drawn back to allow our wickedest nightmares to escape and run rampant.
