This is in regards to the cash only LE Plushie auctions ending this evening, not site auctions.

Some concern has been brought that many are waiting until the last possible moment to bid, in an attempt to 'snipe' the auctions. We wanted to post to alleviate these concerns.

If a bid is placed within the last 5 minutes of the auction time, 10 minutes will be added to the time of the auction's close. In order to give time for all members to evaluate their place in the auction. 

This does not mean that they will go on indefinately. You still have the ability to put in your highest bid and wait it out. The auction will only continue for 3 extensions. So 7:30pm Mistic Time will be the absolute close of the auction. (If the extensions are even needed)

How it Began
Rordon Village is a small little grouping of houses tucked away on the coastline, overlooking a cold sea and rocky shore. No one really pays it any mind except for once a year during Whacking Day, when all sorts of pesky znakes come out of hiding to slither their way across Mistica. Their heaviest concentration is in Rordon; after all, it's where they came from.

Back when Rordon Village was even smaller -- over a hundred years ago, easily -- it was beset by an annual onslaught of znakes, just like the rest of the world is today. However, the znakes were exclusive to this small coastal town, being unable to survive in the dark Woods of Ages that separated Rordon from the rest of Mistica.

They caused havoc, slithering up from their burrows to cover the ground in a living, squirming carpet of scales. Housewives stuffed towels under their doors and windows were kept tightly shut; children would be set outside of their homes, armed with sticks, to keep the znakes away.

With the bright spring sun shining overhead and new flowers blooming, it seemed the hissing creatures were following some sort of mating pattern. The residents of Rordon viewed this annual event not with the morbid glee that we do today, but with a glum sort of resignation due to all the extra work.

The children seemed to enjoy it though; for days, their main task was simply to go about whacking things on the head! They would run about the village in packs, abandoning their stations at home to score as many hits as they could, and it soon turned into a competition among them.

This "sport" soon spread to the adults, who created an annual party out of what was otherwise a dreaded event. The village mayor would set out on the green with all the men, women and children old enough to participate, and whoever managed to bag the most whacked znakes was given a golden trophy to keep for the entire year. It took speed and stealth to sneak up and score a hit on the crafty, quick-moving znakes, so the prize was highly coveted.

Years after this sport was instituted, explorers braving the Woods of Ages stumbled across Rordon and were invited to participate in their Whacking Day as well. Delighted at the prospect of mindless violence that was generously rewarded, they took to the sport quickly. Unfortunately, they weren't nearly as careful about keeping their packs and bags clear of unknown creatures, and so a few dazed znakes hitched a ride and began spreading throughout the rest of Mistica.

The explorers taught their own villages how to deal with the znakes, and soon the whole of Mistica was running around their yards and houses with their trusty sticks, smacking anything that so much as twitched.



How it Works

Keep your eye out for the following button which will appear as you are playing around the site.

Once you click it, you will be faced with two choices. Think carefully! You can either save the znake, or whack it!

The choice is yours! ONce you make your selection, you will receive a surprise Znake.
(there is an hourly limit to the znakes you can collect each hour to keep it fair for everyone. Champions reset at 45 mins.)

The two sides stand by their mission statements from last year, so we leave you with these words. Will they sway you to either side?

Please take note that this is not an item to purchase. Once you submit your ad, it will be reveiwed ASAP and in rotation if approved. Please plan accordingly.

You will be able to create your very own ad banner to promote and build whatever part of your account you choose. Would you like better commission sales, perhaps your shop has been slow, or yu have a pet yu really want to show off? Well, now you can do this! Keep reading for details, limits and fees.

FAQ
* How large can my ad be?
Ad size limit is 550 wide x 60 tall. (this is a pixel measurement).
You may go smaller if you wish, but that is the limit for largest allowance. All ads will be centered for best viewing.

* How often does MY Ad get viewed, and will it always be "clicked"?
Each ad will be rotated through the ad system 2000 times per purchase. Your ad will be linked to the advertised location. (Shop ads linked to shop, DA ads linked to personal DA etc). Link clicks are not guaranteed. This will be up to the members who view the ad.

* How will I know when my ad has completed rotation?
There will be an alert to let you know when you have are reaching the end. So, at 500 views, you can decide to renew, or create a new ad for a new area of your account. This will also give you a guide for sales type ads, to guage if you have had an increase from the ad itself.

* How frequently will my personal ad post?
This really all depends on how many other members have active ads posted. Keeping in mind, the site itself also has ads mingled in, to make member ads have a bit more shelf life. Considering these factors, your personal ad could post 1 time a day, or possibly once every other day and so on.

* What are the rules and guidlines to limits of my own ad?
All ad content posted must adhere to main site forum and profile rules. This includes but is not limited to:
PG-13 limit (language and images)
Advertising other sites
Limiting excessively bright, or animated details
Any ad not following site rules and guidelines will be prohibited from viewing.

* What is the cost and limit to number of Ads posted at one time?
You may post as many ads as you want at any period. However, each ad will be paid for separately, and you cannot "break" viewing limit in one purhase to post more ads.
(ie: posting 4 ads for one cost and have them each viewed only 500 times, etc).
Cost to post an ad: 2000 views / 50 credits.


We hope that everyone can enjoy this option, it's much better than blank adspace, and this way ensures that advertising is relevant to all members. Each Ad will be approved, links and ad both. So please contemplate turning off your ad filter while onsite. It will help us all!

Regarding MP
Someone asked recently about MP/credit earning opportunities onsite and how to obtain Credit Shop items without 'real' money. We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone the avenues available to them.

-Mistic does have a converter, which allows every member the opportunity to convert and have cash shop credits for their use. With time, you can save up for all your own goals without relying on other members. (limit 25MP a month)

-BizMey offers. We are partnered with BizMey to offer surveys and more that can earn you MP. There are many free offers and a few through partners like Amazon.com and other well known businesses.

-Weekend Roar Events. Every weekend, MisticPets staff offers events in the forums that can gain you a variety of site points. MP(Credits), Referral Point boosts and more can be had for answering trivia and solving puzzles.

-There are also times when Mistic Staff give bonus credits for posting in the news and other activities around the site. These incidences are not announced, and usually occur several days after the activity to make the determination fair to those that participated.

-Certain Contests do give out varying amounts of MP, this includes the NewsDesk, where your article can be published in the Chronicles!

-Oftentimes there are Premium Items buried in the Ruins for members to dig up. There is a Pet Slot Coin in there now!

Trophy Update

It seems that several members are having trouble with their trophies displaying on their profile. I just wanted to confirm that you will have to set which trophies you wish displayed on your profile for them to appear. Your trophies have not been deleted; they are simply hidden.

All of us Misticans may have been having a great time celebrating Revelry, but poor Bayou Benni's been praying for it to end! The Rougarou has kept a close hold on him, making good on his promise to not let the little guy go until he's satisfied.

The Swamp, however, is beginning to quiet down. Jasper spent a week reveling in the extra MC his carnival brought in, but now the Jinx and his minions are closing up. Now, Banshee Swamp is filled only with the distant, eerie sounds of scuffles in the shadows and insects singing...

Yawning, the Rougarou cast a weary eye on Bayou Benni, who remained curled up in a dark corner, more resigned to his fate now than afraid. The beast snorted and gestured around his lair with an air of amusement, for it was now festooned in the brightest of Revelry colors! Beads hung from tree branches and paper hats were stacked in corners; patterned cups were arranged in pyramids and various kick and toss balls were stuck high up in the drooping swamp trees.

"It's enough...for now," he declared, swallowing another yawn, "so get out now, before I get hungry again! And stay quiet this time!" At these words Benni leapt up and ran from the Rougarou's dark lair, haring out into the swamp once again, already wondering where his accordion had got to.

Revelry is over, unfortunately, but Bayou Benni is free again, and the celebrations aren't quite finished yet! To send off this holiday in style, everyone who participated is receiving a special Revelry avatar plus a trophy for their collection. Plus, a new Revelry collection has been released; hopefully you kept some items back from the Rougarou!

The shop will stay open a few more days so you can spend your remaining points, but all profile clicking/tossing is over. Have fun collecting!

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees have been updated. The fee is now 1K for each stat the pet has. For example if a pet in the pound has the following stats below then the total cost will be 6K MC. (Intellect does not count towards the cost).

Level: 1
Hit Points: 1 / 1
Strength: 1
Defense: 1
Speed: 1
Intellect: 1
Misticpower: 1

On top of this; if the pet is a limited edition then an extra 10K MC will be added. If the pet has been "boxed" an additional 50K MC will be added.

Privately transferred pets are not charged against these adoption fees. These fees only apply to those pets abandoned in the pound.

Smaller Coding Updates

Have you ever been bored of reading the same message over and over when one of your Toys break? Well be bored no more, if your toy breaks a new random message will appear.

Have you created one too many bank accounts and wish to streamline? Well now you can with the new "Delete Account" option within the banks.

...and finally; do you have too many trophies on your profile and wish to only show a few? With the new Trophy Visibility options you have hide them and only show your most prized trophies.

It has come to attention that a growing trend has members "hiding" their User Info Modules on Profiles.

Please note:
(as per rules and updated in news post from Sept. 3rd)
User Profile Customisation
User profiles must, at all times show the User Information content. You may however customize it to work with your profile design. This means, use of text color, outline framing, etc may be altered, but not to the point of hiding, or making the content "invisible". Text also needs to be kept at an easily readable size. (size 10 minimum**). This module is movable and may be and may be placed anywhere within the profile so that it is visible.

We don't want have to spend time writing out warnings and spoil fun. However, we must ask that you adhere to the above rule. We instituted a lot of customizations for that area to help members achieve the looks they want while leaving the information readily available.

In other news, Elenyona will no longer be stocking potions that affect your pets Stats.  This is to give the members of Mistica time to use what is in circulation on their pets before changes take place that may alter their use for the upcoming new Battle System.

Training will still be allowed for the meantime, since it will be easier to close that when we are nearer completion. However, things are definitely moving at a fast pace in regards to the Battle System so rejoice!

We would like to take this opportunity to explain about the recent MP changes. Up until today, we offered a $5 bonus for every amount of $25 purchased in MP.

MP to cash ratio has always been .10 to 1 MP. The bonus was awarded in a lump sump without differentiation and we feel that this has caused some misconception about the recent changes.

The Free MP scale did change, but the amount you purchase has remained as it has been. Only the 'bonus' was affected to align rewards for higher point purchases.

The Bonus/Free MP is now:
For spending:
$25 = 8% bonus (20 MP)
$50 = 10% bonus (50 MP)
$75 = 16% bonus (125 MP)
$100 = 20% bonus (200 MP)

It looks like some sinister old faces have turned up for our Revelry celebrations! Bayou Benni woke up more than just the Rougarou with his loud crooning; Jasper was shocked out of his off-season laziness as well. After all, what could appeal more to such a greedy character than crowds of partygoers losing their MC?

He ran around to the other tents, grinning, all his pointed teeth glinting in the Banshee Swamp's dull, greenish light. "Come on, set up!" Jasper snapped, while Gregory snarled wordlessly atop his head.

Soon the quiet carnival grounds were in a flurry of activity and much grumbling as everyone dusted off their best costumes and opened up the flaps of their tents to invite people in. Belladonna sat before her crystal ball, eyes closed as if in meditation, ready to dole out horrific predictions; a cackling Skreetch set himself at the threshold of the Sideshow, growls and snarls coming from within the tent, and lastly grinning Elijah, talons flexing, ready to scam his way through Revelry.

Watch out, Misticans; much fun can be had at Jasper's circus, but be wary of the trickster who runs it -- not to mention his workers! One week only will they be open for fun, so head in while you can!
