Defeated!

Queen Boreal could feel soft snow being crushed under her boots.
Looking back, the woman saw the vast expanse of white that was her icy kingdom, and before her, the rocky foothills of Frost Bite Mountain. Hours before she had been standing on those rocks, but her army – King Kohal – had fallen back.
Mistica had flocked to Aurelius’s side in numbers and with speed that Queen Boreal hadn’t imagined possible. The star stood on the front lines, backed by humans, gargoyles, kelpies, fey, sprites and even a few imps, all surrounded by a horde of their animal companions.
King Kohal roared and the queen was horrified to see the fire in his red eyes dimming. The hulking creature tossed his head, agitated, and stumbled, lashing out wildly at the Misticans streaming forth to take him on. And they were winning! She had thought all the weapons would be gone, but no, somehow they had managed to collect a small armory’s worth! Blades whistled through the air and spells rippled the very fabric of space, each blow bringing the Kohal down further. Boreal looked around her and saw that most of her Kohal servants had fled; she could see black specks in the distance of the Diamond Glacier Domain.
And at last, with a rumble that shook the battlefield and nearly knocked the stubborn queen off her feet, King Kohal fell with a shriek that could be felt in the bones. Silence reigned for several seconds that seemed to last an eternity, and when the monster did not rise, shouts of triumph screamed from the throats of Aurelius’s army.
The star raised his hand and pointed at the defeated queen, and she saw a steel resolve that belied his colorful appearance. “Go back to your kingdom, where you belong!” He bellowed, and his allies once again cheered, “You’re finished!”
Even the famous arrogance of Boreal couldn’t make her hold her ground. She drew herself up to her full, impressive height, leveling a soulless white stare at the man who had taken her down. “For now,” she said simply, and turned, signaling her remaining servants to accompany her back to her palace.
Aurelius left the battlefield with those who had fought beside him so the queen’s followers could nurse their wounds. King Kohal remained a dark blot on the land, a once living monument to the victory of the side of good. Truly, he had not wanted this; he was not a violent personality and never would be, but the fallen star couldn’t be allowed to get a hold on power. Even Pandoria would have trouble stopping her then.
And so Aurelius went to the Blizzard’s Realm to greet old friends before his journey back to the skies.
Many Kohal were not fortunate enough to depart with Queen Boreal and are now looking for homes. Perhaps there are those in Mistica that could find room for these poor lost souls?
