A Rae of Hope!
Posted: May 31, 2012

Rae kept the pandamonium from interrupting Pandoria's recovery. She watched as Seht's game played out and many pets were reverted back to their previous form. With a sigh of relief, she quietly dispersed a note, with the ingredients listed plainly for all to see, and seek at their own leisure.

1. Slice of Day
2. Acai Tea Bag
3. Normal Zisscor Squirt Gun

She hoped this would help those that still struggled with the riddles and games that Seht was so fond of.

Lance meanwhile, has some new stock in at Flash Fashions, just in time for the summer!

Seht's Riddles

Despite the uplifted spirit now that Pandoria seemed to be on the mend, things were slightly chaotic all over Mistica however.

ChocoSheep
Misticans everywhere were all but rioting in the streets, and even Officer Coppa couldn’t stop them (he was busy trying to figure out if he could fly with his new wings). Seht’s requested items flew off shelves as anxious owners tried to cure their pets, but even after journeying all the way to Ravi-Sorin to give the dark god his offerings, Chocosheep still ran amok.

Laughing, he gave them a prize, of course, but it wasn’t a cure! After days of hoarding, Seht finally slithered out to address the angry Misticans.

“You have all done wonderfully with your offeringss,” he hissed, his violet eyes flashing, “and desspite my reputation, I will prove I am a god of hiss word. Ssimply ssolve thesse riddless, and you will have the recipe for the cure! King Blithe knowss how to brew it properly.

Firsst, thiss riddle:
1.Ssweet with huess of gold and blue
Ssure to brighten your daily view
Take to the desert, hot and dry
And you’ll find me if you jusst try!

I even have a picture of the next ingredient, though it sseemss a little off:
2.

Lasstly, a bit of a sscramble to keep your mind ssharp:
3. lmrona csiszor rqitus ngu

Of coursse, you have to find the ingredientss too! Good luck…”

Get to it Mistica, your pets are counting on you!

The Plague!
Posted: May 26, 2012

As day broke over Mistica and the sun’s rays warmed the sands of Ravi-Sorin, Rae appeared in the light. She had heard her priestesses crying out to her the night before, scared for reasons unknown even to them, and was relieved to see the world still in one piece. But something in the air made her feel like there was an itch on her back she couldn’t reach; something wasn’t right…

And then Rae saw a small, fluffy white creature frantically running across the golden sand dunes. The goddess blinked and stepped back, not recognizing what it was – until she saw the heavy golden collar around its neck.

Rae stepped closer and realized, to her confusion and complete shock, that it was a very confused Chocosheep in the garb of a temple priestess. It looked up to her and bleated pleadingly, obviously knowing who the goddess was.

Rae couldn’t believe it. Seht must have been laughing until sunrise.

ChocoSheep
Most of the Mistican population had been affected by Seht’s odd plague. Chocosheep roamed the streets, their odd eyes causing them to run into each other, buildings and other random objects. Rae implored the shopkeepers for help and information, but they were all still occupied trying to sort out their stock. She would have to turn to the Misticans who were still healthy enough to help her set everyone right.

Do you dare visit Seht and see what he wants? Only he holds the key to changing our pets back!!

Stronger, but...
Posted: May 25, 2012

With the passing days Pandoria found her strength steadily growing. The Sprite twins had been delighted to find her sitting up on her own, but soon the goddess was standing and walking around her home, determined if a little shaky in the legs.

The morning came when she finally felt strong enough to walk a short, familiar path around Darkwood Hollow. The forest floor was shrouded in mist as she emerged and the air was heavy with moisture and the cold. Birds chirped above her head but it was still too early for most Misticans to be up and about, so Pandoria was alone.
Pandoria
Her steps were sure but the goddess barely made the trip before circling back. Panting, she scowled as she forced water down her throat, slamming the glass on her wooden counter.

“Are you well?” A low, feminine voice came from the doorway. Rae.

Pandoria nodded. “Just fine.”

Rae quirked a slender brow but thought better of commenting on how not fine Pandoria really was. Stronger, yes, but days probably from full health.

“Has there been any sign of Seht?” Pandoria asked to fill the silence, forcing herself to stand though her legs begged her to sit.

Rae shook her head. “No, but we are all watching carefully.”

Pandoria sighed. She wasn’t sure “carefully” was quite enough when it came to Seht, but in her current state what else could she do? Rae was her best defense, but her real power came with the sun, and went with it.

-----
And as the sun set, violet eyes glowed in the darkness. Anya priestesses hurried into Rae’s temple, muttering about the cold and looking over their shoulders; even the moon seemed dim. Prayers went out that the day would come quickly, but Seht was going to make sure they were never heard.

Reminders!
Posted: May 19, 2012

Pandoria is slowly recovering and our world has stabilized, but that doesn’t mean we can slack off! Our sun goddess Rae still struggles to keep everything balanced and Mistica working properly. Seht’s dark spirit seems to hover over us all, threatening to ruin Pandoria’s recovery with his own schemes.

So get moving! More puzzles and riddles could be on the way in the forums, and Rae is still awaiting your creations! The Craft and Avatar contests are wide open for entries, with great prizes for the winners no matter what your talent is.

Charitee is starting to get a little tired, and she’s planning on ending her marathon soon. She’ll have her regular stock back and be giving out points as usual, so turn your items in while you can!

Pandoria's Warning
Posted: May 18, 2012

So many Misticans had banded around the sick Pandoria. Sprites were at her door constantly, and she had had no choice but to let the creatures in. They were quiet, though, tending to the goddess since she couldn’t care for herself, and their cheery nature seemed to brighten her home a little.

Pets, too, came to give offerings to the ailing goddess. Flowers, food, and a host of Kirui eggs and items to ward off any evil plaguing her now cluttered the space around Pandoria’s bed.

When Princess Aislin and Prince Arman arrived one morning and saw Pandoria sitting up, their faces lit up with identical smiles. The princess actually clapped her hands and Arman let out a heavy breath, clearly relieved.

“It’s good to see you, Pandoria,” said Aislin with a respectful dip of her head, “We hope our Sprites have been helpful?”

“They have, even if I never asked for them,” Pandoria said wryly, remembering the huge fuss the Sprites had made over her. Only in the last day had they finally agreed to leave her alone for a short time.

The twin royals knew not to be offended; Pandoria was a benevolent goddess, but her blunt and reclusive nature was well known. They had expected her to only begrudgingly accept help, and had been a little surprised at her lack of resistance.

“And how has Rae fared?” The goddess asked, hungry for information about her world.

“Quite well,” Arman spoke up, “She has settled things, for the most part. The earthquakes, flooding and eruptions have stopped, but I’m unsure how long she can hold everything together, especially with Seht floating around.” The prince grimaced at the name.

“Seht?” Pandoria’s silvery eyes flashed, “That snake is interfering again? Has he caused any damage?”

Arman shook his head. “Just a little confusion with the shops. He is at a disadvantage, really, even at night; the moon and stars seem to keep his power in check.”

“Do not allow him even that foothold, Arman! It’s not his power but his trickery that I fear.”

Arman nodded. “We have more allies coming to help Rae as well,” he said, trying to steer the conversation out of dangerous waters, “The Gurahdia are lending their magic to strengthen her, and the Obsideon who are loyal to us are keeping watch during the night.”

Pandoria leaned back, feeling drained. Her heart was pounding. She dismissed the Sprite twins, who bowed and left, so she was alone again. Hopefully this would end soon; the more time that Seht had to plot, the worse it would get when he finally struck.

---

Two of our lovely Limited Edition species have come out to lend Rae a hand! If you’ve been wanting an Obsideon or Gurahdi, they’ll be available for creation throughout the day. If you miss a batch keep checking back! Additionally, their poppets will be available in Zulime’s hidden shop and the Credit Shop for a limited time.

And with the return of some of Pandoria's strength, it looks like her Overgrowth box can affect a few more pets! Welcome the Overgrown Kirui and Tarinooki!

Confusion, Chaos and Charitee
Posted: May 17, 2012

Charitee stared at the mess that was the Pound’s basement. It was a small room connected to the main building via a rickety staircase hanging with cobwebs, with the walls lined with boxes and shelves. Items poked their way out of some of the top boxes.

The Gurahdi sighed. Well, she was trying to do her part to help Rae set the world right again, but she hated that it involved rummaging through her cursed basement.

In the course of taking down and searching several boxes, Charitee found a huge assortment of Anniversary items! Thinking this was the perfect thing to raise spirits – depressed Misticans were weak Misticans, after all – she carted them all up to her shop.

Anniversary items are available in Charitee’s shop for a limited time, and she’ll be giving out more points than usual for things turned in! And it looks like she found a couple of new pals as well! The Mistical Burgundy Egg and Auria are available, should you have the points to spare.

---

Charitee was organized and ready to go, but our other Mistican shopkeepers aren’t so lucky! All the upheaval and chaos seems to have Maury’s deliveries going every which way. Hopefully the Phelocan can get everyone’s items to the right place…

Darkness
Posted: May 15, 2012

It was the powerful pull of chaos that drew Seht back to the mortal world.

As the very foundations of Mistica shook, the Zisscor appeared on the desert sands, his lithe body unaffected by the heaving of the earth. On the horizon he could see the faintest haze of ash from the Inferno Terrain.

The sun wasn’t quite at its zenith but it shone brightly down on the god so that his shadowy hands disappeared. He snorted in derision and slithered along, not so much curious as to the source of Mistica’s troubles as to how he could turn it into an advantage for himself.

A sudden flash made him snap around and Rae was before him, her jewel bright eyes narrowed. Seht knew he was no match for the goddess in the daylight and so adopted an oily sort of smile, though it was more of a sneer.

“Leave this place, Seht. You are not welcome!”

The god’s violet tail lashed. “I am well aware.”

Rae took a step closer, looming over the Zisscor with the sun wreathing her head like a halo. She all but shook with a mixture of power and anger. “I will make you if I must,” she growled, and for a moment her eyes held the brightness of twin suns.

“For a few more hours you can make such threats, and a few more hours only, Rae.” Seht reminded her, flashing long, wicked fangs in a grin. The next moment he was gone, leaving nothing but a smooth rut in the sand that he’d slithered across. Rae fought to keep herself steady.

Seht couldn’t resist such chaos. He would only seek to avoid her until night fell, and then he would have all the power.

Rae watched the sun fall into blackness and the moon rise on a world on the brink of destruction. Only recently had the Kelpie River stopped overflowing and the Inferno Terrain volcano quieted; Rae was keeping Mistica together, but barely.

---

As the last rays of sunlight died over the sands, a wind kicked up, building into a powerful gale. In minutes the air was more dust than anything and everyone had been forced indoors with their windows and doors shut against the storm.

If you’re having trouble battling the winds Seht brought down on us, why not try this hardy metal umbrella?

And of course, you should be up to date on your knowledge of the desert, and what better than a new book? You can read this new addition by going to the Kingdom Village and clicking on the tower, which will take you to the Library.

Lastly, Rosebud heard about all the trouble and decided to whip up this lovely and delicious cake! It’s sure to take your mind off the nasty things going on.

Rae is keeping an eye out for more of Seht’s antics, but she still needs help! Keep an eye out today for more events and contests in the Staff Events area, and don’t forget to check out the Craft and Avatar contests still going on!

A New Hope
Posted: May 15, 2012

At first Pandoria thought the gentle knock on her door was the result of some new delusion. She ignored it, cursing her weakened body, but a moment later the heavy vines guarding the entrance moved aside and a silver-furred Anya bedecked in gold and jewels stepped in.

“Rae.” Pandoria managed to turn her head to look at her fellow goddess and even that simple movement made her head spin.

Rae looked down on the Braenon, her brow furrowed in worry. “My priestesses called me here, all crying of disasters. What has happened to you, Pandoria?”

“If I knew, I might have stopped it,” Pandoria snapped back, not pleased with the questioning. “Why have you come, Rae?”

“To help! Your world is near death, and I have followers here who depend on me. You cannot do anything, and so I will step in. But my brand of magic is different from yours, Pandoria. I will need guidance.”

“I don’t believe I have a drop of power left. I cannot guide you, but remnants of my magic are everywhere. Speak to the Misticans, Rae. They will help you learn to adapt your magic to mine.” The thought of her creations, already suffering, having to work even harder to save their own lives made Pandoria’s stomach twist. She was supposed to be the savior!

Rae nodded, casting one last look at the once glorious goddess now flat on her back. For a moment she considered trying to heal Pandoria, but banished the idea quickly; she had no idea what was wrong and could make things even worse. So she gave a respectful dip of her head and left the great tree with her face set in determination.

---

Rae is rallying Misticans to help her set the world straight! Her magic needs a little Mistican touch, however, and that’s where you all come in!

Over at the Staff Hosted Events and Games board you’ll see Craft and Avatar contests! You can put your skills to work making real life things themed after Mistica, or for the more computer inclined among you, get your work on site. Prizes and shiny medals are involved (not to mention saving the world), so get to work!

Weakness...
Posted: May 14, 2012

…had settled itself into Pandoria’s entire being.

The goddess’s great tree no longer shone with her power; the silvery light in her eyes had gone out. Being immortal, sleep had always been more of a luxury than a necessity, but now Pandoria found herself unable to leave her own bed.

It was as if something had just drained away all her energy and power, and as the days wore on she felt no stronger. Misticans began knocking on the trunk of her ancient home, shouting about the disasters that had come upon them without Pandoria’s magic to keep her own creation stable.

The Itzair Ruins, already mostly buried, were now hidden under mountains of sand. Dust storms ravaged the desert, blocking out the sun, and Anyai priestesses fell to their knees in their temples, begging Rae to save them.

Ash covered the skies and ground of the Inferno Terrain, piling up on rooftops. Residents wore masks or stayed locked up indoors, lest they breathed the poison in the air. Hot orange lava gushed from the volcano and Mandorans were on standby, ready to move the buildings and citizens out of harm’s way.

Floods in the Banshee Swamp, whiteouts in the Blizzard Realm and Diamond Glacier Domain, hurricanes pounding Bamboo Beach and the Lighthouse – the entire world was collapsing.

And Pandoria had no power to stop it.
