So many Misticans had banded around the sick Pandoria. Sprites were at her door constantly, and she had had no choice but to let the creatures in. They were quiet, though, tending to the goddess since she couldn’t care for herself, and their cheery nature seemed to brighten her home a little.
Pets, too, came to give offerings to the ailing goddess. Flowers, food, and a host of Kirui eggs and items to ward off any evil plaguing her now cluttered the space around Pandoria’s bed.
When Princess Aislin and Prince Arman arrived one morning and saw Pandoria sitting up, their faces lit up with identical smiles. The princess actually clapped her hands and Arman let out a heavy breath, clearly relieved.
“It’s good to see you, Pandoria,” said Aislin with a respectful dip of her head, “We hope our Sprites have been helpful?”
“They have, even if I never asked for them,” Pandoria said wryly, remembering the huge fuss the Sprites had made over her. Only in the last day had they finally agreed to leave her alone for a short time.
The twin royals knew not to be offended; Pandoria was a benevolent goddess, but her blunt and reclusive nature was well known. They had expected her to only begrudgingly accept help, and had been a little surprised at her lack of resistance.
“And how has Rae fared?” The goddess asked, hungry for information about her world.
“Quite well,” Arman spoke up, “She has settled things, for the most part. The earthquakes, flooding and eruptions have stopped, but I’m unsure how long she can hold everything together, especially with Seht floating around.” The prince grimaced at the name.
“Seht?” Pandoria’s silvery eyes flashed, “That snake is interfering again? Has he caused any damage?”
Arman shook his head. “Just a little confusion with the shops. He is at a disadvantage, really, even at night; the moon and stars seem to keep his power in check.”
“Do not allow him even that foothold, Arman! It’s not his power but his trickery that I fear.”
Arman nodded. “We have more allies coming to help Rae as well,” he said, trying to steer the conversation out of dangerous waters, “The Gurahdia are lending their magic to strengthen her, and the Obsideon who are loyal to us are keeping watch during the night.”
Pandoria leaned back, feeling drained. Her heart was pounding. She dismissed the Sprite twins, who bowed and left, so she was alone again. Hopefully this would end soon; the more time that Seht had to plot, the worse it would get when he finally struck.
