Despite her ordeal with the imps, Dr. Erlenmeyer seemed just as cheerful and eager as always. The king and queen of Kingdom Village had asked her to stay temporarily in their castle, just to be sure she was healthy, but she politely declined and set right back into Darkwood Hollow. She claimed her unfinished research on the kirui had been stalled for long enough, and even dragged Dr. Kirsch along, though she seemed a bit reluctant.

But it wasn’t all research once the doctor reached the forest again. She’d stocked up on the supplies and tools the imps had ruined and set up camp again, but this time sprites were walking about with her, setting up long tables. Each one was laden with items, from the rainbows sprites loved so much to the darker red and violet of the imps. Even a few of Pandoria’s legendary boxes seemed to have made it into the mix!



As curious Misticans came by, Dr. Erlenmeyer greeted them.

 

“I couldn’t just let everyone go without a thank you, so as promised, here are some things to reward you for your efforts on the battlefield!” The doctor grinned a little. “Even imps are welcome.” A few sprites glanced sideways at her for that, but none protested.

King Mephitic wasn’t about to attend some party a former captive was throwing, so he remained in his dank castle, amongst the dead leaves and bloated stems and twisted roots. A deep scowl twisted his thin grey face and not even his guards dared to speak a word with him in such a black mood.

Victory had been so close…

Unfortunately, Dr. Erlenmeyer commissioned Maury to deliver the trophies, and he got a little lost! He should find his way soon, however, so the participants of the war will have something shiny to remember all the fighting by.

In the meantime, I'm sure some of you can figure out how to make this special item with King Blithe's help and a bit of sticky help!
 

 

Somehow, the Vampire Wine that King Mephitic swirled in his glass seemed a hundred times sweeter with victory so close. His imps had all taken the sprite’s early lead as a direct insult and banded together like Mephitic had never seen to close the gap. He saw violet and red paraded about the entirety of Mistica as imp allies proudly showed their colors, and they had certainly come through. Soon, a messenger would come and announce that the sprites had finally been defeated.

As if on cue, King Mephitic heard the rustling of dead leaves and snapping of twigs as an imp ran through the shadows of his castle to the dark throne room. The king sat up, wine lowered, leaning forward in anticipation. This was it, the announcement he’d been waiting for!

The courier bowed low and King Mephitic noticed he was shaking. Frowning, he set down his wine. “Get up,” he commanded, feeling his stomach clench as he spoke. Could the sprites really have kept ahead? No, they’d been so close!

“We fought hard,” the imp began, and King Mephitic scowled, knowing exactly what that sort of preface meant, “but the sprites beat us. Barely, but…they won.”

King Mephitic cursed and hurled his wine glass against the wall where it crashed and shattered, spilling the red liquid like blood. “Get out!” He demanded, jumping to his feet and sweeping his arms wide, eyes bulging with rage, “All of you!”

No one needed to be told twice. The courier and king’s guards all turned and ran from the throne room and the wrath of their defeated king.

Meanwhile, in happier parts of Mistica, Dr. Erlenmeyer had recovered from her ordeal and was on hand to thank Mistica for their efforts. She was able to be rescued while the Imps had been so distracted fighting the Daydream Kirui.
  
"It feels so great to be here with you all today, giving thanks for your help and support. The properties of the Daydream and Nightmare Kirui are quite spectacular, and I can't wait to return to my research. And I will do so very soon, thanks to your efforts!"
Dr. Erlenmeyer smiled at the crowd, but everyone could see that her mind was already back on her research and the Daydream and Nightmare Kirui.

"Tomorrow, we will have a shop, with many fine goods to reward you for your efforts. The final counts are being done, and the items are being stocked so that everyone can enjoy the fruits of their hard work. We thank you for your patience!"
She adjusted her glasses, and pulled a piece of paper from her pocket.

"However, we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of some amazing Misticans, from both sides of this 'war', who went above and beyond and have the highest totals!"

King Mephitic’s guards and couriers had all noticed his increasingly relaxed nature the longer the war wore on. His wicked grin had returned to replace a scowl, and he cackled on his throne, one leg thrown over the side as though not a single burden rested on his thin shoulders.

While Aibrean sweated and worried in her little hidden tent and Joel, along with the royal sprite twins, desperately called for their troops to step it up, King Mephitic gleefully went over the numbers again in his head. Well, it was true those wretched sprites were still ahead, but barely! The imps were swiftly closing the gap, and unless Aisling and Arman’s allies had some new tricks (they didn’t, Mephitic reminded himself), they were going to lose this war.

And so the imp king sent out messengers and soldiers and laughed, picturing the horror on sprite and human faces alike as the imps finally took their rightful victory. The daydream kirui would go down, and King Mephitic would have the power in Darkwood Hollow that he deserved! Even Pandoria would have to honor the war’s outcome.


This is it Mistica, the last day to battle the Kirui and earn points for your team. There is only a narrow gap separating the two teams, and this may be the closest war yet! 
Once the battle is done, we hope to award points and open the plot shop within the next couple of days, so be sure to keep watch!

Fighting Continues

Aibrean rifled through all the papers on her desk as sweat beaded on her forehead. Summer in Darkwood Hollow was hot and so humid it was like being smothered by a wet blanket.  It didn’t help that Aibrean was stuck in a small, hidden tent among the sprite army, nearly buried under field reports.

They weren’t good, either.  She sighed, holding up one of the most
recent findings. Well, they were still ahead…but not by much. Not by enough!

After neatly stacking her ever growing mountain of papers,
Aibrean stood, wincing at the sudden flash of pain in her neck. How long had she been hunched over those wretched pieces of paper? The tired sprite pushed in her chair and left the tent, intending to find Joel. He had to know so he could rally their troops. The imps couldn’t be allowed to overtake them!!

The Mistic Team is looking to expand our art team as we work on realigning and overhauling the creative departments.
If you're interested, you should be able to produce 5 high quality items a week and be willing to work on various projects and add to the team spirit and be a team player. This does not mean working on pets etc, just participating in discussions and plotlines and whatever else may appear~

Both the imps and sprites could tell that the kirui were getting ready to fight. While offerings continued to pile up before them, the nightmare kirui was quite pleased with how the imps had closed most of the gap between them and the sprites, and the daydream had been impressed with the faithfulness of the hardworking sprites.

Unwilling to let either side claim such a powerful ally, the imps and sprites resorted to an older form of warfare: sneaking and trickery. Usually these are regarded as imp traits, but the sprites could be just as crafty, and they desperately needed to win this fight.

So with weapons in hand, both sides began sending out small parties of attackers, straight at the kirui they feared.
   
Click the Kirui above, and be ready to fight! 

Have at it Mistica, and keep in mind that each hit has the ability to land as a Critical Hit, and you will be awarded with a Daydream or Nightmare Kirui Plushie for your efforts!

Members can attack every 15 mins, however Champions have a slight edge with a 10 minute return time.

Each time a Critical Hit is received, the hit counter will reset. 

Each blow will earn points for yourself and your team. Which side will take the lead in this final challenge?
Time will tell...

Also, please take note that restocks are returning to normal and potions and hands will not be accepted much longer. Some shopkeepers may want to rethink their pricing so as to not be left with too many 'useless' items.
