On another note, Charitee has been doing some much
needed spring cleaning!

You would not believe the state of the storage sheds at the pound!
The winter has left Charitee with much work to do indeed.
Most of what was found had been destroyed by rats, and she would
not dare to even TRY to pawn those items off on site members.

However, there are a few items that seem to be in fair repair.

Work continues on some Battle readjustments, that's taken a bulk of Shantred's time lately. We are very excited to be reaching the conclusion of this project!

Coding endeavors this week included Battles, as well as working to release our newest species, the Ricket!

There were a few glitches from Paypal and their downtime from the 20th. Those have been ironed out and things are back on track! If you encountered a delay or are missing MP, please contact Zarabeythe to report the issue directly. 

Next week should have a much larger coding update, and possibly opening for a bit of testing from some of our more feverent Battle Addicts. ;)

"Alright folks, this is Suzie Stigith reporting live form Banshee Swamp. Today we've taken a crew out into the surrounding woods and we're hoping to stumble across one of these.... aliens.... So far, we haven't seen anything, just more scratch markings and chewed up trees.

Well misticans, it looks like this was a false alarm- there aren't any aliens to be found here, but instead, a new species! We're going to call it the Ricket! 

Apparently, the Ricket's main diet is trees! but not only that, but they also use the branches and bark to build their homes-underground! Fascinating really. We're still hoping to find out more about this interesting species- but with Dr. Erlenmeyer still researching the Kirui, it may take us some time to discover more about these little bundles of fur. However, there's plenty abound, so see if you can catch one of your own today!

Scientists continue to report the forest depleting in size, but it’s some freelance photographers who have recently discovered something new. As these photos illustrate, it seems that these, ah, aliens have been using our trees as scratching posts before taking them down!”

”And claw marks aren’t the end of it! Going deeper into the woods, you’ll see trees with huge chunks missing, and the cuts are disturbingly precise. See for yourself!”

“What sort of odd thing could create such damage? A rabid Haruba whose home scratching post proved insufficient, or maybe our resident swamp witch released a monster who subsists exclusively on wood? “Ken Kratork here with Mistican Action News, bringing you an update on the oddities riddling the Banshee Swamp! Many theories have already been proposed since last week’s disturbing footage was aired, from aliens to Imps playing tricks on us all. However, new developments have some locals thinking that aliens aren’t so far-fetched.

Scientists have been keeping track of Banshee Swamp’s forest, and what they found over the last few days is quite puzzling! It seems whatever is plaguing the Swamp is doing so for its abundance of foliage, as seen in these photos here.”

“It’s a big difference, albeit less exciting than last week’s film. Whatever is roaming the swamp seems to be able to make whole trees disappear, right down to the stumps and extensive root systems! But what could anything want with something as mundane as trees? Only time will tell.

So we 'celebrate' Friday the 13th today... we know Misticans around the world are excited for the Jinx releases we thought we'd share a few facts about this illustrious, (albeit terrifying day!)

Today marks the second Friday the 13th this year! If you miss your chance for a Jinx today, July!

There once was a ship in Mistica named Friday the 13th. It set sail, of course on Friday the 13th, many years ago... and was never seen again. I wonder what happened to it...?

The fear of the number 13 is called Triskaidekaphobia. And the fear of Friday the 13th has two names; paraskavedekatriaphobia & friggatriskaidekaphobia.

King Blithe's new recipe this year was a complete failure! He has no clue what he did, but it made all his beautiful eggs disappear, and he had Rosebud take them away as fast as she could while he tried to figure it out.


 

The grumpy old bear has retreated and wants nothing to do with the celebrating, hopefully he'll come out for her actual birthday!

A couple members have asked where to get normal eggs to dye. They are located in the Health Foods store, and are stocking with a quantity of 50!

Ostara Eggs!

"Do you all know what is coming? Why, Pandoria's birthday approaches!!" Rosebud exclaimed with glee. "It's that time of the year when we give thanks to our goddess for all that she has done to aid us throughout the history of our fair world. Are you ready to gather and decorate eggs for offerings to our goddess?"

This week was a bit light on updates due to the big move but we do have a few things to report!

- Lanturnacht Loot was discovered to be still open despite controls on our end saying it was closed. This was rectified and it is closed until next Lanturnacht.

-Work continued to get the Eggs released for the week of celebrating for Ostara, please look for an update on this later this evening, or tomorrow morning.

-A very bothersome bug was discovered with the reset pasword feature and though it took a bit of time, it was dealt with and new measures in place to direct members if a password reset fails for any reason.

Tune in next week for a big update! We did not spend the week idle and have a list for Shantred to tackle ASAP!

We have some updates for you! Tune in tomorrow for our new Chronicles edition!

- When making a purchase in members shops, you no longer "leave" the shop for purchase confirmation. You now stay in the shop for the ease of continueing to browse without having to backpage and re-enter.

- Mail has been edited to prevent content from running off the right side of the mail layout.(If any layouts seem to still have some runoff, please mail Zarabeythe)

- We are now able to edit the COLOR of text content in mail layouts. If any mails text needs to be updated for better contrast, please mail RuthieRox.

- Some avatar solutions were missing / outdated as to ability to be found. ALL avatars should now have proper working solutions and updated clues.

- Site Layouts are being looked at currently for color contrast for better viewing. There is a thread in community Help asking for members to please let us know which layouts need adjusting, and specifically, which areas of the layouts. (ie: Left side links, Upper Tabs, Page confirmations, etc).

- Help Site and shop locations.If you are a Champion Member, and actually log in to the Help Site, you can now see what shop each item stocks in, as well as rarity and pricing etc.

-Chamber of Evil has successfully been closed until Lanturnacht. There was an error when it was previously closed, and this loophole has been plugged!- Sending items to friends and other site members no longer requires "exact" spelling of members name. Upper and lower case is no longer sensitive.

-When sending items, you no longer have to have the EXACT capitalization of the member you are sending to. This should cut down on confusion as people can change theri capitalization as often as they wish.

 

Work continues on battle, however Shantred is in the middle of moving, so we wish him the best and a speedy setup so he can make it back to us!

 "These creatures are known as the Kirui! Isn't he so very handsome? It seems the Kirui have decided it is time to reveal themselves to all of Mistica. It's so wild, finding something that we only knew before as legends! What?! You've never heard of the legends? People getting lost in the woods and attacked by imps or Nightmare creatures, only to be saved by creature with glimmering scales that moved as fast as lightning? … Well, now you have,"

Still, there are very few Kirui around, and they're extremely shy. As such, they're only available in the credit shop. But not to worry! We heard that there might be a giveaway… Will you be lucky enough to bring one of these beautiful creatures home?

Once upon a time you'd attempt to 'stick' rotting fish on your friends and family on April 1st. Thankfully it has evolved to involve PAPER fish, instead of rotting fish. (thank goodness!)
