The Voodoo Pandoria Box's powers have spread to the Frodrinn. Doesn't this little guy look like he just wants a hug?

Maybe just smile and wave from a safe distance, though. Those pins look sharp.

Meanwhile...

Earplugs are flying off of the shelves, and those who can’t get their hands on them are resorting to stuffing cotton and even fur into their ears instead.  The bags under the eyes of swamp residents are growing darker with each passing day, and mothers of newborns have fled to their parents’ houses (leaving very disgruntled husbands in their wake).  It is chaos.  It is horror.  It is…Benni?

The melancholy (and mediocre at best; sadness did not suit him) melodies oozed from his accordion as tears trickled down his face.  The staccato of his sobs, as well as the occasional shouted remarks about “big meaty claws” from passerby, occasionally broke through the music, but there seemed to be no indication that Benni’s sadness, and therefore his playing, would stop any time soon.

However, amidst the sand where the gentle crash of the ocean’s waves managed just barely to drown out Benni’s wailing, a certain Anya smiled to himself as he pawed through a pile of papers, eyeing the notes dotted across the page.

If you're getting tired from all the celebrations and tossing, Keilly has the perfect remedy: copious amounts of sugar! Head over to her cafe and see if you can find one of her new Revelry cupcakes!

Not to be outdone, Erika has also whipped up a couple of her own creations to keep you tossing much later than is considered wise. But hey, Revelry only comes once a year!

But where is poor Benni? The Rougarou sleeps soundly as his nemesis hasn't made an appearance all Revelry!

Kingdom Village glittered pink and red. The king and queen had taken it upon themselves to decorate not just their castle but the village itself, and cooties and lovebugs all over were like living baubles. They landed on heart-shaped lights hung in doorways and skulked around snowmen decorated in the likeness of the Hug Bug.
    
Harmony was setting up amidst pink and red spotlights in the castle’s ballroom. Huge red silk ribbons tied with bouquets of different colored roses adorned the ceiling, and marble pillars had been wrapped in vines of wild roses intertwined with delicate pink lights. Flower petals sweetened the air, tossed like snow upon the floor and tables.

All Benni could do was watch as guests arrived, themselves glittering in gowns and handsome in tuxedos. Harmony began her set with an upbeat song on her electric guitar to get the Misticans moving.

Night had fully darkened the sky by the time Harmony was halfway done. Benni looked out the huge picture windows framed in gold and flowers and sighed at the moon. It would have been the perfect night. He made his way to the Dessert table to grab some treats.

Keilly and Erika both supplied treats for the event, be sure to see them and stock up! 

Benni noticed that Harmony had finished and guests began to leave. He couldn’t face Harmony, so he lost himself in the crowd and snuck out with them before the stignightus had left the stage.

Poor Benni! All his dreams shattered on the night of the ball!
What could have happened to his music?

Benni woke Infestation morning with a huge smile lighting up his face. He hopped out of bed and went immediately to his little closet, chose the most dashing beret he owned, and went to his music room with plans to practice Harmony’s song. He would surprise her with a moonlit serenade after her performance at the Kingdom Village ball tonight, and Benni was determined to play it flawlessly.
 

When he pushed open the door to the music room, his heart stopped. Benni stared at a blank wall where all his music had been pinned up and arranged just the night before.

“Oh no…” Benni moaned. Of course he hadn’t memorized it all; he’d only recently finished writing it! Plus, he suspected the Rougarou’s constant beatings had done a bit of a number on his head.

Fighting the dread twisting his stomach, Benni ran around the music room, looking in drawers and behind spare accordions, hoping the music had just fallen and scattered. Except he found nothing. It was all gone.

Pandoria has opened her eyes, and is starting to work with her trainer and is being socialized and exposed to the world so she can be an effective HeroRat when training begins!

Kudos to you all for helping make our support of HeroRats a reality!

The high-pitched chirping of crickets seemed fittingly cheerful to Benni as he jotted down one last note on one last bar of music. Pinning the sheet to his wall amidst the rest, he smiled, surveying what surely was his masterpiece. He picked up his accordion and played a few notes, unable to help himself. Even the Rougarou would enjoy this!

Apart from Benni’s sheets of music was pinned a bright red invitation covered in delicate golden calligraphy. Harmony’s face was featured in the center, surrounded by pink and red roses. Benni only had a few days to perfect this piece, so with no mind to the late hour, he let his accordion sing.

In fact, those red-and-gold invitations had made their way all across Mistica.

Harmony sat in the studio she’d built behind her shop, her eyes heavy. A music stand held up the piece she would perform for the king and queen and Prince Joel and Princess Alana in just two days.

Lance sat back, exhausted. He was sure he’d destroyed all the nerves in his fingers from working too quickly with the sewing needles, but he couldn’t have empty shelves when Misticans came looking for something to wear to the Infestation Ball.

Or perhaps this gorgeous creation made specially for the Credit Shop?

Along with a fancy updo of course!

In Mistica Kingdom, servants hung red silk tapestries embroidered with roses. Enormous bouquets of the flowers were set in every corner and shelf and the blossoms wound around pillars, sweetening the air of the entire palace. Soon, lights and music and food would join the decorations for the loveliest event Mistica had ever seen!

It felt like the entirety of Mistica was preparing for the Infestation ball. Rosebud, however, was just happy to have the smell of fish out of her shop!

“Thank you, officer!” The phelocan cried happily.

Officer Coppa nodded stoically as he directed deputies hauling in boxes of sweet smelling flowers. Others, faces pinched in disgust, had boxes loaded with the fish that Rosebud was certain Makoto had switched her flowers out with.

“It’s my job, ma’am. Have a nice evening,” As the deputies finished, Officer Coppa tipped his hat and Rosebud thanked him again as he left. Now Misticans could afford flowers for their sweethearts again!


There are two new stationeries available in the Post Office as well! Perfect for the season! 

And for those that are in the quest for fish, well... be sure and visit Makoto!

In a small corner of the Banshee Swamp, it almost looked like it had snowed. Benni’s every move caused the white papers scattered about him to crinkle loudly, and there were a lot of them! Pen in claw, he scribbled down a few more notes on a particularly wrinkled looking sheet, and then, smiling, pinned it to his wall.

 
The “wall” was just the polished inside of an enormous tree that Benni had called home for years, now plastered with the fruits of his feverish writing. It was very nearly finished, but as he scrutinized his work, Benni sighed. Something was missing, something that would truly let Harmony know how he felt…

 

A strange new cootie came in to wander across his floor, and Benni shooed it out of the way. He felt a kind of kinship, being of small stature himself, and wondered at the new critters he saw buzzing out in Infestation glory.

Makoto swatted away a kapiah that had landed on his shoulder and begun a little soft-shoe. He scowled at the one customer that he had had all Infestation as they took their time examining his merchandise.

“Is this all you have?” the customer asked. “Don't you have any chocolates or anything?”

“Of course I have chocolates. They're right in front of you!” Makoto said impatiently.

The customer looked distastefully at the plate of smelly fish heads in front of him. They appeared to have washed ashore at some point, only to be collected and slathered in chocolate syrup. “No thanks. I think I'll go see if Rosebud  got her new stock in yet,” he said before leaving.

The feline began hissing and stamping in anger as his only customer walked off without purchasing anything. His fur standing on end, he angrily declared his shop closed and went for a walk while he sorted this all out.

“How can I compete with that Rosebud?” he said furiously. “Everyone always goes to her for Infestation! Why doesn't anyone ever come to me? Doesn't anyone like fish? And who am I talking to? I should stop doing that!”

He sat down on the sandbank and thought to himself. Rosebud had tons of stock. She could “share” a little bit of it, couldn't she? After all, he was sure she'd understand. Makoto had to pay off that condo he'd bought last summer somehow!

He went back to his blanket in the sand, gathered up the failed merchandise, and smiled a shifty smile as he carted it all off to do Pandoria knows what with it.

Seems something's a little fishy with Rosebud's stock all of a sudden...wonder why that could be?


If you want to get your hands on Flowers this year, it looks like Makoto is the one to see but he's charging a bit much...

Four new Avatars are available, if you can accomplish the new general achievments that have been added. There are now 50 achievements total!

All over Mistica, citizens were fleeing in terror from the ongoing Infestation hordes. Down in the swamp however, it was relatively quiet. Though the cricats had begun to sing as they moved in and the cattties were occasionally splashing as they snapped up water skimming insects from the surface, there was otherwise not a sound about anywhere. 
 
Benni was hard at work, a pencil clamped in one of his claws and a music sheet in front of him. He wrote a few notes down before stopping to think and humming a few bars to himself. He had a jar of candy next to him to keep up with any bites he might suffer should one of the pests get into his house in the huge old tree. He couldn't stop for anything until he was finished!

What could Benni be doing that has him so occupied?

Even with all the bugs and cooties in the air, there's stil a bit of winter lurking about, and this Wintergala Panju has come to join the fun of Infestation!

It's about time he came out with some new stock!

From every street corner and shop window, Misticans gather and look to the clouds to watch as the sky turns pink with the incoming swarms. Cooties collect on windowsills and lovebugs munch on candies carelessly discarded by fleeing civilians as the creatures drop from the skies and land on unsuspecting victims. Pets everywhere begin to show strange side effects and chocolate cravings soar as denizens stockpile sweets to combat the madness. Reports come in that the Hug Bug himself has been seen lurking around with a smile on his face and love in his heart.

Infestation!
 Yes, it's that time of the year again Mistica and the Cooties and Lovebugs have descended in droves to take over our world!  It's definitely time to take advantage of all this love and care being tossed around as these critters worm their way into every nook and cranny on Mistic. Batten down the hatches and do what you can to protect your pets; unless of course you are looking for a new look?

Lovebugs and Cooties will appear randomly on your pages as you wander through the site and you'll have to jump on them when you see them. Click them quickly to see if you can capture them!

Keep in mind that you could finish the collections and get a medal or two for your troubles!

Might be a good time to activate your champion dust, you'll be able to find more cooties and lovebugs during the infestation period!

Important Note!
If you see a cootie or lovebug, you must click on it straight away, if you are on multiple tabs, it will make the critter more apt to 'run away' than be caught. Don't miss out on them, and stay alert!

Only want one or the other of these critters? Utilize these fixes to get rid of one or the other (or both) of these pesky groups!

If you'd care to reverse the effects at anytime, you can pick up the 'antidotes'.
