Welcome to Destiny! Our new Admin Assistant who will be helping with a variety of tasks, and assisting the mod team with some backup when we are overrun with members like we have been the last few days. Welcome to all of you as well!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Mistica. A huge thanks is given for each and every one of you for being a part of our community. Without you, we would never have made it these past six years. 

The year ahead is going to be full of amazing things, and the staff and I are all very excited to kick of Mistmas in a few short days, and we hope you all can enjoy what we have planned in the months ahead.

In closing, I want to give a huge thank you to my staff. Without you, the dream of Misticpets would not be even a small fraction of what it is today. Together, we have built an amazing place, and I appreciate every one of you for your hard work and dedication to the members, the site and to myself.

“And...got it!” cried the doctor triumphantly.

Dr. Erlenmeyer tilted her head at the machine the doctor had built and, for once in her life, her brain was blank. To her the device looked like a pile of garbage, just a bunch of parts tossed into a pile and then fused together. The doctor had extracted a thin metal board criss-crossed with wires and circuits from his first disabled Grulek, grabbed a black boom box, pointed his “screwdriver” at them and suddenly they were inseparable. The boom box had begun to buzz but quieted after the doctor kicked it and after that, the doctor had been running around half-crazed. He’d grabbed pots and pans, another boom box and half a dozen other odds and ends.

“Here, hold this,” the doctor said suddenly and Erlenmeyer bent to grab two wires. Following their path with her eyes, she could sort of see how they connected to the boom box. A lightbulb went off in her head. “The radio signals are being tuned into the Gruleks, aren’t they? You’ll use this tower to reach them all! That’s brilliant!” She blurted out.

Dr. Erlenmeyer shook her head. “This is insane,” she said, “people running around trying to catch these things. I hope you know what you’re doing, doctor.” She sighed. “In the meantime, I want to have a look at this one. I’ve never gotten a good look at their insides before. They don’t like having their armor removed.”

The doctor nodded. “Of course,” he said. He knew this was a crisis, but he was also curious about this world’s inhabitants -- Dr. Erlenmeyer especially. She seemed quite clever, but kind too; it was obvious she’d spent the previous night working.

“Well, it’s not completely fried,” Erlenmeyer broke through the doctor’s thoughts, brushing off her knees after inspecting the Grulek, “I’m not much for electronics, though.” With a sigh and feeling thoroughly unaccomplished despite a lot of work, she left the kitchens to ask Prince Joel how many Gruleks they’d acquired.

As he’d been for the past two days, the prince was in a study just off the castle entrance, with a constant stream of guards in and out.

“Quite a few. We might have all of the malfunctioning ones,” he told her. Dr. Erlenmeyer nodded, assured him she and doctor were hard at work, and jogged back to the kitchens.

When she returned, a cupboard door nearly smacked her in the face. She slammed it shut and found the doctor with his head in another cupboard and a small pile of pots and pans on the counter beside him. He looked up.

“Well, come here and help!” He said, “We’ve got a thing to build!”

Turn in your Gruleks that you've collected, there will be many more available for capture today- Click the Doctor above to turn them in and get a nifty prize indeed for your trouble!

A hidden gem to find, if you know the secret words! 

The castle of Kingdom Village was prepared for battle. Prince Joel had woken to empty streets, shrieking villagers and burned homes and shops the morning before, but the devastation hadn’t stopped there. After sending out messenger phelocans and receiving grim replies, it was apparent that Kingdom Village wasn’t the only region beset by crazed Gruleks. All over Mistica people and pets had taken refuge in hidden shops, unpopulated areas like the Woods of Ages, and fortresses and temples protected by skilled sorcerers and warriors.


Such was the case with Prince Joel’s own castle. The king had sent the prince out with most of his army to extract as many villagers as possible, and now the huge palace was overflowing, protected by a wall of fighting men and women who could take out a Grulek with one good blast to an eye.

Which was why when a guard came to tell Prince Joel that a man was at the palace gate, Joel almost told the guard to get checked for a head injury.

“You’re sure? A man is at the gate?” The prince echoed instead, deciding patience was best with someone who was possibly hallucinating.

Aspiring Item Artists- Whisper has made a board in Mistic Chat with tutorials and will give input if you'd like some help on your application.  Hurry over now! 

As the wooden door shut behind him, the Traveler let his huge pack fall off his shoulder with a loud thud. He was always surprised how foreign his own home felt; simple as it was, he preferred sitting under a tree and talking to the Misticans who visited him for quests.

And how quiet! Outside, skillows sang and rickets gnawed on trees while nokwis trotted about the forest floor. Now, the Traveler felt silence pressing in on his ears, and decided one night home was enough. After replenishing his supplies, he’d leave in the morning.

The Traveler’s cabin boasted one room and a large closet. A small bed was in the corner farthest from the door, and the kitchen (which was basically a fireplace and some cupboards) opposite that. He went to the closet now and began poking through the shelves lining the walls, all laden with various treasures.

Suddenly, a flash of light caught the Traveler’s attention. He looked around and saw nothing but Gruleks  against the far wall, lined up neatly.

He shrugged and picked out a few choice quest rewards. Once his pack was full again, the Traveler yawned, shut the closet door, and slumped over on his bed. After kicking off his worn boots he collapsed onto his pillow and was soon snoring.

Aibrean's tower office was perfectly positioned to catch the freezing fall wind. Just the sight of the castle's flags whipping about outside made her shiver, wishing for the warmth and humidity of Darkwood Hollow. But she had books to shelve!

Jasper had never felt nervous before, so when his heart seemed to climb into his throat it surprised him. It wasn’t the bright big top or the bleachers packed to the ceiling with Misticans, but rather Archie standing a little behind Jasper on his right. The jinx couldn’t help but think that his brother looked a little bit wrong there, standing too stiffly but attempting a brave smile nonetheless.
 

“Lanturnacht is long gone,” Jasper began and the crowd surrounding the brothers went silent to listne. “But the circus remains, because of every one of you!” He spread his arms wide, grinning, and even Gregory had lost most of his usual scowl. “And though we leave now, it won’t be long before our return.” That garnered a deafening cheer and joyful screams.
 

Jasper whipped Gregory off his head and saluted the crowd -- more cheers -- then glanced back at Archie, who blinked and took a step forward. The two brothers, now that they truly knew what that meant, that curse or no they were stuck together forever, bowed.

Jasper’s Circus would remain, but Archie no longer felt hidden. It had started last year, running the circus by himself, but even then Jasper had overshadowed Archie as soon as he’d recovered. Now, the aetra stood on Jasper’s right hand as Misticans cheered them on.
