Robin sat propped up against a pile of darkly-hued flowers as his followers worked to scrape them all together to get rid of them. Perhaps they could sell them to get proper building materials, though at this point he wasn't sure if it was even worth it to try to build another HQ. It might be easier to just venture out and find something more suitable--maybe an old castle, or an fort that someone else abandoned. Nothing like making the best out of a bad situation, right? 

Still, some of the Imps grumbled about all their hard work going to waste. The only bright side in it all was that the Sprites' plans, whatever they were, had also been foiled. Despite it all, he remained steadfast in keeping a positive outlook; after all, both sides seemed to be having a lot of fun with his little prank war. Glitter spray aside, he was loving every second of it!

This book, though...



He gave a small sigh as he shifted the heavy text in his lap, moving to flip through the pages for what felt like the hundredth time. The young imp just couldn't figure out what was so dang special about it! He quickly found the pages that Aibrean had marked, squinting at them with a look of mild irritation as he tried to make sense of it all. They were blank--he couldn't see a thing written there and wondered in vain why she would mark empty pages. Surely there was something he was missing...

He flicked through the pages again, looking through the seemingly empty book until he finally found ink. What he found was a picture of a grand castle, one side bright with rainbow hues while the other side looked like it had been dipped in nightmares. It was drawn elegantly, and the script below was written to match:

"The keepers of dreams,
Two halves of the same whole, 
Arrived in Mistica from a faraway realm..."

He squinted at the pages again, ears flicking back as he tried to make out more. It was impossible--it was far too degraded. Faded away with time, or something else. He sighed, pulling the crudely drawn map from his pocket and sticking it in the pages as a quick bookmark. He'd have to come back to--

"Woah!" he dropped the book and moved away, eyes wide as red ink began to scrawl across the pages by itself, the work of some magic greater than his own. It gave a very different message, one reacting purely to the map he had acquired. 

"To restore the pages lost, a quest must be accepted. Find the not-so-sacred 6 and the history kept hidden will once again be revealed. The map leads to where the journey begins." 

Robin approached the book slowly, reading over the words before picking up the map and looking at it with new eyes. He thought it was garbage before, leading him to nothing but old ruins and a useless spell book that gave him a flower spell, but maybe there was a little more to it than that. A wide grin spread across his face at the prospect of an adventure and he rushed off to tell his followers. He had to make an announcement! No, he had to put out a bounty to get more adventurers to take this quest! Treasure hunters loved bounties!

A slight flash of pastel hues shifted, hidden in the forest just out of Robin's view. A silent pair of prying eyes having witnessed the entire thing! Well, the Imps couldn't have all the fun solving this mystery, could they? There was undoubtedly some villain behind the disappearance of the information on those pages, and while he hadn't been able to see what Robin had (why on earth was he reading from blank pages?), the imp's tendency to read aloud had given the spy all the information he needed to know. 

"If he wants to set a bounty then we will too." a voice whispered to itself, a faint smirk curling on the lips of the mysterious sprite as he disappeared back into the forest, intent on gathering his own set of adventurers.

Hey Misticans!

As some of you might already know, the imp/sprite war plot this year is a choose your own adventure plot! What this means is that you get to decide which actions our heros take from this point forward. This allows more freedom to discover alternate endings and guide the plot in any direction you find more appealing. Want a serious plot? Vote for those options! Want something more lighthearted? The power is in your hands!

To vote, head on over to the Poll Booth to make your opinions heard! The first set of choices are up now! You will earn plot points for each choice you submit. Updates will be frequent and will happen after each new news post (that's plot related) so be sure to check back in to make sure you don't miss anything.

But that's not all!

Make sure to check out the Roleplay Forums to participate in our Dungeons and Belragoths plot event! This is a roleplaying game where you can earn plot points by creating a character and interacting with other users. You will be guided through a paralell story taking place during the main storyline of the plot. You will be faced with puzzles, beasts to fight, and all manner of shinanigans from your fellow misticans! Anyone with any writing level is welcome to join, so don't feel intimidated by that roleplay aspect--it's really more of a game than anything else. :)

Remember that there will be a plot shop at the end of everything, so make sure that you get involved! It's also just a lot more fun that way~

The battle to construct the best headquarters and fortress was on. Imps and Sprites, along with their supporters, raided Rosebud’s shop every few minutes to stock up on supplies to beat the other team. Rainbow and nightmarish-colored items went out the door almost as fast as poor Rosebud could stock them. Yet, in their designated bases, mixed emotions were in the air.

Aibrean nervously looked around the fortress; everyone was lending a hand on hammering in the wood and making sure everything was perfect before bringing in more supplies. They’d been dealing with quite a few Imps stealing their supplies underneath their very own noses at Rosebud’s shop, but their determination would see them through! 

But then there was the letter…

Dear Aibrean,

I’m a little caught up at the moment, but I’ll be there soon! I know you all need my help so just hold on and wait for my return.

The Sprite sighed, crinkling the edges of the page in her hands. This could go either way, and she wondered if it was even a good sign that he was willing to help them.

Things could only be classified as being an organized disorganized mess in the headquarters of the Imps. While they were doing a better job at obtaining materials, quite a few of them skipped the store and went straight to pranking the other team. From stealing everyone’s left sock and pillowcases, to using them as decoration inside the half-constructed base, the more they pulled ahead in the race to build their headquarters the more they began to get rowdy. To ensure their lead, Robin called his boisterous supporters to attention, only to be interrupted.

“Wait, Robin, what’s that in your hair?” Robin paused and rubbed his head curiously. Oh, right. He thought the glitter had been washed off in the stream he ran through. Oops.

“Oh, that… The sprites have come up with a plan to go barefoot and use their left socks to lead us into ambushes where they spray you with glitter spray.” Robin sighed dramatically, grabbing a nearby towel and trying to scrub the spray off. Rainbow glitter didn’t look good on him at all!

“But… their socks!”

“Yeah we need them for decorations!”

“I hate glitter.”

Robin calmed them down, towel still half on his head. He grinned, an expression his supporters knew all too well. He had a plan. With a green glow covering his fingers, he snapped them with a smirk, only to blink. "That'll show those Sprites! Now they can build with..." his words trailed off.

Wait…. Oh no… The building materials held in everyone's hands around him changed into…





Flowers? Robin sighed, guess his own prank against the Sprites backfired on them as well. Instead of only the Sprites' weapons turning, theirs had too.

Oh no! It looks like all of the building materials throughout Mistica have been changed into flowers! So much for a fort...

If the recent plot has you itching for your own nightmare or daydream pet then you're in luck! The daydream and nightmare pandoria boxes have made a return and are now available in the Credit Shop. These are seasonal items, so pick them up now while you have a chance!

The Champion gift for the month has also been released; those with champion accounts have recieved an Inferno Pandoria Box! Enjoy your gift! Remember that you can exchange your box for a different type of the same value at Pandoria's Box Exchange.

Misticans began to gather from every corner of the globe to show up and support their chosen team. Some found the Sprites' plea for help convincing and began to prepare themselves for what they thought would undoubtedly be an oncoming war. Others found Robin a good enough leader and believed him when he said that their pranks would be all in good fun. The truth of it all was yet to be seen, but now that the groups were here they both needed a place to stay; a center of operations, if you would. 

"Welcome, Daydream Sprites!" Aibrean called out to her own crowd, trying to calm it and get everyone's attention. While they didn't have a set leader yet she'd become somewhat of a surrogate, told by the Prince and Princess that they would make an appearance later when the forces were a little more organized. She'd begrudgingly agreed, mostly out of loyalty alone; she would much rather be out looking for the book that was stolen. "We will now begin construction on our Daydream Fortress! In order to win this war we're going to need a good defense and a sturdy base of operations. Please, go out and find the best materials you can to help us build it! I promise you'll be well rewarded!" she coughed a little at the end of her speech, having tried her best to sound serious as she could for her small size and accomplishing it...for a few sentences. Thankfully her followers were more than happy to go out and do what she asked no matter how she asked it--the promise of a reward didn't hurt either!

In the furthest reaches of Darkwood Hollow the imps had, too, begun to gather. They all circled around Robin as he stood proudly on a rotting stump, clawed hands extended outwards to catch the attention of his wild followers. The smile on his face seemed permenantly stuck there, the imp beaming from ear to ear. He was beyond excited and couldn't be happier that people actually trusted him with this! After all his mistakes in the past he still had a chance at redemption!

"Hey, Nightmare Imps!" he called out, everyone falling quiet (or as quiet as imps could be) and turning to look at him expectantly. He put his hands on his hips and smirked haughtily. "We need a place to call headquarters before we get this show on the road, don't we? Well, it's not gunna build itself!" he laughed at that, a few imps already groaning at what he was implying. "That's right! We're gunna build the best Nightmare HQ that Mistica's ever seen! Go out there and get the craziest," he paused, leaning in to punctuate each word as he looked at a different imp in the crowd. "most twisted, nightmarish, scary materials you can find! I'm pretty sure you'll know 'em when you see 'em." 

The imps rushed out into the world to find said materials, but Robin turned the other way and had no intentions of helping them gather it. A thoughtful look crossed his face as he glanced down at a crudely drawn map in his hands, the young imp apparently heading off on an adventure all his own. They could handle it; besides, he had much more important things to worry about...

After the loss of the book Aibrean rushed away to tell the rest of the sprites about the contents of its pages, or rather, the lack thereof. The king and queen had even allowed her into their council for advice, the small sprite barely able to keep her composure as she explained the potential importance it had and how it was stolen from her. The simple conclusion was that the imps had stolen it for their own nefarious plans, especially after the stunt that they had pulled with Coppa a few days prior. Something had to be done about it, and soon! Who knows what the imps could do with that kind of knowledge, especially someone with power like King Mephitic...

So they called out to Misticans all over the globe to lend them their ears once again, Aibrean standing rather timidly at a podium as she addressed the camera that Lyra and her crew held up for her. How did she, of all people, get volunteered for recruiting?!



"Ahem, attention Misticans! Please join the Sprites in our attempt to stop the chaos that the imps are planning and help us save Mistica! I promise that we'll have lots of fun while doing it, too..." she trailed off, her eyes roaming over the crowd and imagining all those watching from home. Some of the color drained away from her face at the thought and she swallowed hard before continuing. 

"But we can't allow them to just continue causing trouble for everyone without consequences, so we'll win in style again--"



"No way!" a familiar voice cut in, the fiery-haired imp leaping up to stand on the stage beside her and casually push his way in to take over the podium, having to lean down a fair bit in order to properly speak into the microphone with a mischievous grin. "We're gunna win it this year! And we don't have any 'dastardly plans', by the way, just an awesome prank war! So join the imps if you want to have some real fun instead of being so serious~" he smiled, spotting Officer Coppa in the crowd as he moved through to try and detain the young imp while he had the chance. Robin's eyes widened and he bolted off the stage, a few of his followers already scattering out from the crowd to follow him, all of them laughing wildly. Aibrean just shook her head, standing on tiptoe to reach the microphone again. 

"You don't seriously believe that...do you? They're obviously up to no good, like always..."

Sneaking in and grabbing the book had been easy, but honestly the shadowy figure hadn't even bothered to look at the book yet, especially considering that it had been recently….procured…from a collection where it wouldn’t be missed. Not that the owner even bothered to check the inventory. All in all, he decided that he would be safe holding onto it. Robin just hadn’t counted on having dropped it while having his fun.



“Crisis averted, but now to begin looking into what this book says.” Robin’s eyes lit up as he plopped down against a tree and prepared to open the curious book when another imp ran up, followed by another exact copy of him. Oh wait, those were the twins. He had nearly forgotten that they'd been among the first to join his crusade.

“So...many of us are wondering who our next target is. That Coppa person is beginning to get suspicious and no matter what we do or how careful we are, everyone is nearly catching us.” The older twin said.

“Yeah, and we’re pretty sure they already know it’s us, too. So do we stick to the shadows or reveal ourselves?” The other twin remarked with a hopeful grin. Robin tapped his chin as he thought. It was fun to stay anonymous, but he remembered back all those years to the beginning of the wars they used to have with the sprites. Well, calling it ‘war’ that first year wasn’t too accurate. It had been fun. Which was why he gathered up the imps he knew would listen to his idea and came here.

“Say, you know what we need?” The two leaned in closer, looking quite interested in the mischievous smile plastered on their leader’s face.

“We need a base, a headquarters. So how about we make one?” The whoops and hollers of excitement he elicited from the two were pleasing as they raced off to tell the others the news. Well now, there was only one more thing to do…

……………………

Beyond the trees lay a group of concerned villagers and Officer Coppa once more giving his speech about reporting anything suspicious. Robin had heard it plenty of times, even to the point where he mimicked him just out of view. He held up his hand where a Nightmare Fairy glowed ominously.

“You ready for a bullseye?” Robin whispered excitedly, looking up at Coppa. Whether the fairy understood or not, it remained in his hand, eyes fixated on the target. Three, two--No, move out of the way person!--There, an opening! He tossed the fairy with perfect accuracy, the pal slamming into the side of the officer's face. The imp hopped up on a tree branch in full view to take responsibility for his action.

“YOU!” Coppa bellowed, struggling to get the fairy off his face.

“Just you wait; things are going to get even better around here!” The imp then smiled and leapt back into the trees and out of view to see how things were proceeding with his group.

Aibrean had shut herself in, pouring over the first few pages of the strange book she had found...or rather, the book that the Misticans had found before she "borrowed" it from them. Hopefully they didn't mind too much that she took it, because after all, it was an intriguing find and she had to research it. 

However, it was rather strange; the first few pages told of the beginnings of the daydreams and nightmares. It spoke of a time where Misticans never stared off into nowhere and daydreamed, nor had terrorizing dreams that woke them up in the middle of the night. Yet, past the preface of the book, the pages were blank.



“This is a nightmare…it doesn’t look as if the pages were tampered with, almost as if there were no words printed on them to begin with?” The small sprite furrowed her eyebrows, flipping through the rest of the book. There had to be a mistake. Surely there must be some secret in uncovering what the book once held. The library had been completely silent today, only one person having entered, so even the librarians were in the back and were nowhere to be seen. Behind her, the door to the building opened, setting off a little bell.

She listened carefully, but there were no footsteps suggesting someone had actually come in, even as the door closed. A shiver went down her spine and she glanced behind her; no, nothing there. The lights were bright, warding off all shadows she could see despite how late in the night it was. A rustle brought her attention back to where the book was.

Correction: where the book had been. 

Aibrean let out a loud “HEY!” and turned to chase whoever was scampering off with the book, catching sight of a figure which darted out of the building and into the trees nearby. Oh no! She lost it!

Just who was that figure?

We now interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you Officer Coppa with a public service announcement.

"Attention Misticans! I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that pranks, no matter how harmless they may seem, are unlawful and may hurt your fellow Misticans more than you think. The defacing of public property, harassment of Mistica's inhabitants, and actions that otherwise disturb the general peace will not be tolerated!" the officer cleared his throat a little, moving a clawed hand up to adjust the reflective glasses on his face in an attempt to keep his composure. 

"Strange crimes and events are happening around Mistica, and while we are aware of them we currently have no leads on who this criminal or organization is. The crimes have so far been minor, such as leaving threatening notes and defacing public and private property, but we may have reason to believe they are now devolving and have the potential to become dangerous. If you have any information you are encouraged to contact the Mistica P.D.--"

"Minor crimes?" an indignant voice rose up out of the crowd, cutting off Coppa mid-sentence. The officer flinched in surprise and looked down into the group that had gathered for the announcement, a figure dressed in the finest clothing making his way up the stairs of the podium to address them himself. The crowd gasped in horror, a few raising their hands to stifle a laugh. 

It was Lance, though he didn't quite seem like himself...

"You call this a minor crime?!" he asked, the cheran barely able to keep his normal aloof image together as he gestured to his hair, hand shaking faintly in anger. "This uncultured swine had the audacity to ruin my public image! How will anyone take Flashy Fashion seriously now that its owner is neither flashy nor fashionable? They could have very well ruined me...who knows how long this will take to get out? If you ask me it's more than obvious who's responsible for this..." he huffed, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at nothing in particular. Officer Coppa raised his hands up and did his best to get the crowd under control again, addressing them more firmly. 

"I can assure you that we are taking this anonymous threat very seriously, but we have no intention of making false accusations. Please alert the authorities as soon as possible if you see anything strange. Thank you." The crowd wasn't willing to argue with the officer any further, but they left with grumbles and whispers about what was happening and who they thought was responsible.

Who could have dyed poor Lance green? Was it really the same person who left that ominous note with Maury? If so, what could they be planning...?
