Chilling Peace

The morning after Aurelius had departed, Pandoria happened upon a small skillow, bright blue and yellow with the mark of the sea heavily stamped upon its features.
"Hello little bird, why do you look so sad?" the goddess inquired, stooping low to bring herself closer to his level.
"I miss the joy that Aurelius' comet bears each year, and wish that I could inspire joy and peace on Mistica to help in his absence." The skillow continued, "Blue and yellow is cheery indeed, but not enough I fear."
Pandoria smiled and bowed her head, and withdrew a shiny orb that swirled with the peace and joy that complimented the comet's effect on Mistica.
"Take this my little skillow, and you will soar in peace." Pandoria smiled as the skillow accepted the blessing.
In wonderment, the skillow twittered happily and soared in the skies. Everyone that glanced upon its tiny form in the air felt a bit of a peace settle upon them, and they smiled.

Pandoria's next journey was not nearly as pretty nor joyful as her first had been. An intense need drove her to the farthest reaches of Dire Morana, swirls of madness and an overwhelming hunger competing within her mind as she sought out her latest charge.
She came upon an apocalyptic anya, and she stopped her journey, well beyond the reach of those wicked claws. Pandoria waited silently, her face a mask of serenity though no smile graced her lips.
The anya turned her terrible eyes to the goddess. "Well Pandoria, have you come to see what madness the power of your box has wrought? You will find no peace here, only madness and despair that will consume you."
Pandoria's gaze never wavered. "Have you come to regret seeking out the power of the Apocalyptic Box?"
"Regret? You are a goddess, you know nothing of regret! With your silky white fur and power..." Contempt dripped from every word, and the anya lips cracked into a gruesome and mocking smile. "I regret nothing, though I do wish perhaps that your magic had considered what some of us lost upon transformation."
Pandoria seemed as still as a statue for several silent minutes. From within the folds of her cloak, she drew a small orb, and advanced to place it within reach of the anya who watched her, that terrible smile never wavering.
The apocalyptic anya's gaze traveled from the Pandoria and regarded the orb, rising to her feet. She slowly reached out a bony paw to accept it.
As soon as the transformation was complete, the anya settled back down, and her smile took on a chilling fright that was somehow even more terrifying than when blood was her principal adornment. Inky blackness seemed to suit her well, and she nodded her thanks to Pandoria.
"I give thanks for your... benediction... dear Pandoria. There is peace in the cold, though I am sure you would not know that of which I speak." The anya's attention was diverted for a moment, though what strange call she heeded was only known within her own mind. When she looked back, Pandoria had vanished.
