Well, it has taken me awhile to write in here, mostly cause I wanted to write something about my cousin Mindy, but I just need time... its been really hard losing her.
I rememeber when we were kids and we would get in so much trouble with grandma. I mean, it wasnt bad but just things like going to the lake, and walking down the road and under the tunnel. LOL Everytime we went there was an old, grouchy man that would come out with a gun and his dog and try to get us to go away, then he would call granny. When we would return home we would get in trouble. When we would stay the night at grannys, we would always get in trouble cause we would never sleep. We would lay in bed laughing about things... then granny would come in and separate us. LOL
Once we went to the lake and tried to ice skate, alot of fun until the ice started breaking, lol.
When we attended the same school we told everyone that we were sisters, but we had different mommys. The kids didnt understand, but we convinced them it was possible.
Once we took a trip to Nebraska to see family, On the way there her mom stoped the car because we were out of the seat belts. We turned upside down and slept with our feet up in the seat, and our head towards the floor. Then we switched to our grannys car. Which was terrible because there were crying babies and loud kids, and not alot of room. While we were there we meet a guy, he was really cute but shy. We decided that he needed to be tickled so we traped him in a corner and tickled him. muhahaha. The last time I saw him for awhile is when he asked me out. Now, you have to understand I was in second grade I was still told boys had cooties. lol So I ran inside and cried, I wish I didnt now. I feel so silly. We encountered our first Tornado there. We prayed it wouldnt happen because we didnt want to go in the dead chicken pit, ewww!
I also rememeber that she loved the song: " My achy breaky heart" She would skip down the road singing the song. We also had the "watermelon tree", it tasted like watermelon. Yes, we did eat tree bark. haha. As we became older we talked a little more.
I remember that when she drove her car at night she would have her dome light on because she was afraid of the dark.
I did not know everything about her, but I still felt we had a connection.
I remember her high school prom. She had her her hair up in curls. A long red gown on. It looked awesome on her. We took pictures together in front of her house before we went to our separate destinations. (we went to different schools)
I remember her smile. She was not shy with it. She snorted and kicked her legs when she laughed hard.
I remember we stayed at grandmas house while she was away. It snowed so much that I could not get my car out, so She, her friend, and I went out to push my car out. They would not let me push it cause I had to go to work. The snow, mud, and cold sprayed all over them. They were laughing so hard on the way back to the door. Forever Grateful to them.
Once she moved in with her best friend, the family didnt like her friend because she would control her. Eventually Mindy became tired of her as well.
But Mindy finally found the man of her dreams, Kevin. Mindy loved him. Kevin told us that Mindy changed his life, that she made him a better man. The family was so happy when she became pregnant, because we didnt think she would be able too.
They married in Feb.2004. and two months later she had her baby Makenna.
Mindy didnt die because of complications with her babys birth. She died because she became sick and the hospital didnt give her any drugs. She died one day before Makenna was a month old.
Her sister keeps saying that she wished she could have taken Mindys place because mindy had a family. I dont know what to tell her. I know she misses Mindy, but there was nothing we couldve done. the only thing I can say is that if she died, we would all feel the same way. It is hard to explain how I am feeling. I still can not believe she is gone myself. She was only a year younger than me, and it hurts so bad because we grew up together.
I miss her so much. But I will be around for her daughter Makenna.
Mindy gave me some dolls, and things a long time ago. I plan to give them to Kenna when she is older. She will never not know of her mother.
I love you Mindy. I will see you in heaven. *huggles*

Makenna is 8 years old now, and so smart. She loves school, loves to read, loves her dancing class. She is spoiled by everyone. And she looks exactly like you, Mindy.

Makenna is 12. She just recieved 6th Grade Honor Roll I. She is super smart, loves life, and her family. We talk about you often, Mindy, she knows you like you are with us.
