Arden says *Through some gaps in the trees, gentle morning light was beginning to shine through. Although Thestral loved the quiet comfort of night, bright stars being her only companion, she had to admit to herself that the warmth and life of day filled her with great comfort. Soon the mist around her hooves -- and Disguise's paws, she supposed -- would dissipate, and possibly the feelings of unease she had would leave too.* "Will it cause you permanent damage?" *She seemed to sense that he probably wouldn't provide many answers for this, but it never hurt to ask.* "Your words are very wise, and they do comfort me a lot." *She sighed, although she made sure to watch where she placed her hooves. The mist was definitely starting to disappear, but she still didn't want to twist her ankle by stepping into a small rodent hole.* "I'm just afraid of leaving this forest altogether. I mean, it's really the only place I know, even if this part is a little unfamiliar to me." *Thestral snorted lightly, clearing her nose. Ah, that was much better. Without at much of the mist and earthy scent filling her nostrils, it was much easier to get her bearings for this part of the forest.* "I might just have to consider leaving, as much as it would pain me to do so." *She stopped a few feet away from the coyote, as he himself had stopped very nearby to some of the light filtering weakly through the trees. That same lantern, the one that had immediately alerted her to the strangeness of the coyote, appeared between his paws. She felt an indescribable sensation before she saw a faint golden mist swirl into the lantern, seconds before it disappeared again. It wasn't until a weight seemed to lift from her shoulders that she realized it came from her.* "Ah... you are quite the mysterious spirit. I definitely believe secrets are your specialty now." *She also felt less nervous in general -- but she wasn't sure if that was a side effect of the secret being lifted or the more comforting light of day finally taking hold.* |
