Thanks for addressing this -- when I come to MisticPets, it's somewhere I want downtime, somewhere to foget the other sites I know are out there and play from time to time. I do not appreciate the advertisements or linkings to other sites. However, I've seen users post URLs to sites such as deviantART, is that alright seeing as it's not a petsite or competition, in a matter of speaking? |

Roxanne, I would suggest Gaia. Raising dragons over there is a breeze.
So I can assume you'll start banning all threads and posts that mention those horrible evil "competitive" sites like Gaia, Neopets and the like? Because thats where I see this going. :| |

Yeah, the Gaia sign-up is not working for me. I may convert to other sites like Howrse, and Its SO hypocritical, you have ads for Neo and Howrse down at the bottom... So to me, this news post is pointless, except to ban us from raising adoptables and telling others about other petsites... |

This is understandable, I'd better take mine off Raika's profile then. I really can't see why people are complaining though. This should help with the site lag, which in my opinion is a VERY good thing. And why come to a site for the sole purpose to use it to work on something from another site? Thats sounds rude. **tears**
And Windracer that comment seems really unfair considering they've been trying to let folks link up to other sites and its only going down because its overwhelming Mistica's equipment. =/ |

We have always allowed users to exchange information that allows them to contact others that may play on different sites. IE: My username on (such-and-such) is (so-and-so), what's yours?
We allow links to sites as Deviantart for the time, as they are not a competitive entity.
We can't control all the banner ads, because 1; the Google Ads simply show what Google determines to be related site content, obviously this ends up including other virtual petsites, and 2; any ads that could be controlled would be chosen by Impulse Corp., not Mistica Staff.
I'm sorry you view this move as unfair, but we are trying to sort out this lag which has been getting everyone down so much, and it is hopeful that this action will help in that direction.
You have pets here that you may pay attention to, work for, and work on. I'm sorry this news post has struck such a sensitive spot, but it is necessary :( |

It irks me how some people are getting upset over this. This improves the quality of browsing on Misticpets, so why be upset? I really enjoy this place and the fact that Mistica let us at one point have them up was nice, but in the end, it proved to be too much for the servers. Of course I've never been too interested in the dragon eggs and such. |
