PinkPirate: Moderators are the ones who keep the site in place and in order, making sure than everyone follows the rules and answering questions that users have. You roam the boards and just make sure everything is ok ^^ (It's what Ruthie, Melissa, etc. do)
Miraye: Compensation as in what you expect them to give you in return. It doesn't always have to be money and I doupt they will even be offering money for mods. You might say nothing, items, etc.
As far as those age questions, all I know is that you need to be at least 13+. Possibly older than that but I am not apart of staff and therefor I do not know.
