Oh, yes, hello. How are you? Good, no, I'm doing well, thanks.
If you have a complaint please write it down in the ledger, leave your name and address and we'll get back to you.
Yes I know it's urgent.
Yes, I know it's about Yang. It always is.
Yes. I know. It's a recurring problem.
Well, that's a bit harsh --
Well he is annoying --
And frustrating --
Yes, yes, and reckless and selfish, but --
Sir please, we'll restore your crops, don't worry. We have the best restoration team this side of the coast. There is no need to panic. We'll get it done before the end of the summer. It's been a particularly dry summer, it can't be helped, we're doing the best we can to turn the weather in our favor.
Yes, thanks, alright, have a nice day. You too.
Sigh. I can't wait until it's winter.

"If you seek counsel, come quietly and without ceremony. All your worries will be addressed, and we will help you where we can. But we only help sparingly, so prepare to be disappointed."

"The Lover"
Yin is a spirit of the moon who has incarnated on this plane with the intention of offering balance and guidance to those who seek it. She is open to all, providing they give her an open mind in return. She abhors selfishness and refuses to offer counsel to any who come to her with a heart full of vengeance.
In nature she is a quiet, passive, contemplative soul, who is often filled with indecision. She prefers to progress slowly in all matters and considers careful thought and consideration to be the best method in regards to problem solving. She believes that the best way to learn is through careful study and observance, and that success is best achieved through the weighing of many options. She prefers routine and predictability and believes in the necessity of unity and togetherness.
She is bound to Yang.

'Twas one dark and lonely night
when fate came a'knockin' 'round
the wind picked up and hooked my heart
and dragged me a'howlin' down.
The blightful moon did cast my favor
far from its forbidding gaze
but still I took the rusty chalice
and drank with eyes ablaze.
First the nectar was sweet and lovely,
as divine as a morning's dew,
but soon its pace did quicken and swell,
and fill my soul anew.
On I drank, into the dawn,
unable to quench my thirst.
The longer I drank the harder it got
to uncurl my fingers chilled.
Endless thought I this fate of mine,
cursed by greed and fear,
but soon that moon did sink below
the curbed and kindly sphere.
Promptly my will and strength restored,
only to be given back warped:
contorted into ugly shapes,
and recognized no more.
Thus it was this day I tell:
the time I left behind
the part of me that laughed and loved,
the part I long to find.

Yang was born before the Earth, and I after. Before he came, Earth was but a barren rock. But before I came, the earth was still, and quiet, and hot.
I was born in a dark and cold emptiness. When I was young I looked up towards the sun, but was pained. I longed for warmth and newness, but it was too bright for me. Were I to venture there, I would have burned away. So I lived in the shadow of the moon and stayed away from the light. I turned my gaze towards the Earth instead. It's reflected light was easier to bear. I could look at it for eons in safety, and so I did. But I never ventured too near, for I was shy in youth, and I was afraid of change.
But Yang was not afraid, so he descended before me. And I watched, for he, though the incarnation of the sun, was dimmed on earth as well.
When I saw the fire catch to earth, I was enthralled. I saw mountains rise and valley's leveled. I saw great caverns dug and I saw the pits of a great and vast ocean made.
But there was no water, no wind, and all was still and red and orange and brown.
It was like this for many centuries, and after so long of stillness, even I grew restless.
So one day I left my birthplace and ventured off into the great unknown. I had grown bold and reckless and impatient with age.
I descended onto the Earth, and carried in me ice. I thought this ice would protect me from the great heat of the Earth. Though I was reckless, I was cautious. And though I was cautious, this I did not expect.
The ice I carried began to melt.
And into the depressions it filled, creating real oceans and real rivers. Into the great holes of the world my essence wept, and from it I would create life.
But then, I did not know what was in store for me. I thought I was dying.
I was smaller than I'd ever been. It was painful, and for a long while I stood enveloped in a terrible sorrow, mourning all of me that I had lost.
But then the melting stopped, and I was all that was left. I stoop atop a hillside and I looked down, and I found that while I mourned, green things grew and breathed and soaked up the remnants of me.
It was not all my doing, of course, but if I did not credit myself that would be dishonest. I had a helping hand, of course.
He stands before us all today, with a will kept barely in check. His fire is demanding, and fierce, and nearly unending.
But you know what?
So is mine.
