Name: Winfield
Alias: Wynne
Favorite food: Honey
Items: A hound mound she use to summon her pets
Winfield was born a bearger, but somehow got her growth stunned while still growing mentally. As such, she ended up lacking the normal fur partner that her kind grew, leaving her has a pure black human sized cub. Her lack of growth made her mother abandon her and even almost got herself eaten, but managed to escape that fate. Her lack of size and loneliness put her at a dissaventage for survibility, since her kind strenght revolved around there power and brute strenght, and forced her to become independant and quick thinking.
For a long time, she was forced to forage her own food. Berries, carrots and other easy to get food. Meat was nearlly impossible for her to gather, rabbits and birds being to fast to catch and anything else to dangerous. She would occasionnally steal food from survivors when they left their camp, but not all since some layed traps. She noticed that spiders and hound attack them like they did to her. The pigs however were friendly and even helpful with a little bribe to the survivor. However, whenever she tried to approach the same to imitate, the pigs attacked her. She tried to learn words to befriend them, but neither words or food could quelm there overwelming desire to skin her.
So eventually she gave up. She learned a few tricks to survive from observation. Namelly to make a fire. Her lack of night vision being dangerous in a world were nightmares attacked you if you couldn't see them.
Spring was easy to survive, even with all the struggle she faced. Summer on the other hand was different. The heat was nearlly intollerable, even with the lack of a huge grey pelt her kind was known for, and she found herself lacking the will to move from the shades. When she did need to move, the sun burnned her skin and she got stuck to move a few miles before needing to hide from the heat. She also needed to hang around more often near the survivors since the bushes were drying up and they would keep food stocked. She also learned from trials that the monster meat collected were bad for her health. Summer was hard, but with careful management, she managed to survive. Her biggest scare was the giant fire spitting insect, known has the dragonfly.
After summer was the very welcome cool weather of autumn. Foraging was becoming once more easier to do and safer then stealing. As she mentally aged(her body
still stuck in her cubs looks and size)and gained experience to deal with situation, she gained assurance and tried a few more gutsy move. One trick she picked up on was to wait for the pigs and spider to kill each other to gather the pigs meat. She could outrun the spiders and if she made no move to harm them, they would loose interests and eat there brethren meat. With meat in her belly, she gained strength. Her favorite food was still the honey. The bees stinger hurt, but some survivor made beehive and she could collect from there or there fridge. She always made it her priority food, but it also made her drowsy so she had to eat it away from danger. The days got shorter and shorter, the air gaining a frigidness. Not knowing about the approaching winter, she didn't know how to prepare herself. She did notice the coldness thought and she was forced into more learning experience. the surviving survivors were making clothing, but she couldn't imitate them, even if she tried. Coordinating her paws beyond
opening chest and making crude axes for chopping trees were more difficult, so sowing was impossible for her to do. But luck favored her when her own kind was slayed by a human(the human used strange magic in her eyes. Mixture of black stuff that exploded and a stick that let out blue fire). They took some of what they needed and she grabbed the remnant fur it had to make a small simple fur cloak.
Winter, changed her life around. Beside fighting an enormous urge to bury in a hole and sleep, she got a first encounter with the hunting MacTusk N' Son. They killed one of the survivor she was following. It was a minor setback since survivors came and went in this world, but what picked her interests was that they were using hounds. that got her wondering to the possibility of gaining an ally. Her kind was solitary, but they were also huge and strong. everything she wasn't. Anything else her size had brethren to help, even the humans could ally themselves to the pigs. If she could get a hound, it would make her life so much easier, she would be able to hunt something big like the tusk seemed to do. It was with that resolve that she got set to attempt in spring. She still had to survive and the dead survivor would not gather any more food. Still, she ransacked there camp, gathering useful stuff, eating what she could and then moved on to get more food.
Barely making it to spring, she was starving by it, but plants were growing once more and the ice melted. The warm air made it easier to travel once more and she set her plan to tame a hound...after she got food in her stomach. Taming one of those wild beast was hard. She almost wanted to give up, but remembering that it could make life easier made enduring pain all the more worth it. and after over almost a month, she finally managed to tame Sirius. Her first black hound. Thought she didn't call it Sirius at first. Dog was the name since that was the word she heard from the humans.Teaching it to be obedient was difficult. The aggressiveness of the hounds made it prone to attack anything. It took a lot of monster meat to get it to learn to act when she wanted it too. She was finally able to hunt proper meat. Her first hunt was a Koaffelant. She used the dead human spear to hunt it. She learned that her dog loved monster meat the most, which pleased her since she couldn't eat it.
She focussed more on talking this time around since she had already learned basic survival techniques. She used her dog to practice with. With her practicing, she managed to teach it more controlled behavior for hunting, making it a more viable source of food. She also learned a few more stuff, including the Sirius that was apparently a star, name of those shining light in the sky. She decided on that being the name of her new pet. Summer came and she tried to tame a red hound this time, more ally meant easier hunting. She named this one Lucas. The last of the hound to be recruited was Aster, a blue hound. Every time she tamed one, it became easier since she figured out the trick to it. she also found out that not all hound loved the same meat equally. Sirius love the black meat, while Lucas loved regular cooked meat and Aster the same, but raw. Thought all accept any meat they would get, they were more cooperative when they got there favorite treat. She also knew that she wouldn't tame more hounds beyond those three since she still had to feed them and herself. But they made hunting easier and cuddling to there warm fur made winter cold more bearable.
She eventually catches the eye of Maxwell, the current 'lord' of the world. He was interested in the strange new development and then she was stuck in a other world of his own making...
Sirius: Sirius is a tireless black hound with a rope collar. A purple gem is attached to the collar. He is the first hound to be tamed by Winfield and the most loyal. Sirius is quite resilient to pain, but is weaker then the other two. He enjoys monster meat the most.
Lucas: Lucas is an energetic red hound with a fiery temper. His fur his mostly red with a black stomach. He owns a similar collar to Sirius, but with a red gem. He is the strongest of the three hounds, but can't take hit well. He's also resilient to the cold and don't care about fire or heat. When taken down, like most of his kind, he lets out fire. He doesn't like monster meat, but like other kinds cooked.
Aster: Aster, like the blue hound he is, is cool and calm. He tend to be lazier then the other two, but not less aggressive. He also own a rope collar, but his gem is blue. He is not the strongest or weakest in endurance or strength. When taken down, he lets out a cold aura around him that can freeze most enemy in place. He loves cooked meat, except monster meat.
