Have you ever loved something so much you just can't let it go? That's how I felt. I never wanted to be alone. I was loved for once and had friends. I wasn't waiting for someone to come!

A young man came to my lake one day. He was beautiful. His hair was as black as the night sky and his eyes sparkled like the water in my lake; Crystal blue. He was bathing and I remember just hiding behind my waterfall watching him. I didn't dare come out until he was nearly done. Slowly and quietly I swam underwater to where he stood though I made sure not to get too close. Once behind him I wrapped my arms around his waist and hummed softly, though I must have startled him cause he pulled away with a yell and fell into the water.

I kept quiet watching him stare up at me, his eyes nearly as big as the full moon. He hadn't seen anyone like me before I knew that much because his mouth fell open as if he was a fish out of water gasping for air. He slowly stood and came to me and hesitated to touch my skin. All I did was smile to him and eventually dipped back into the water swimming to the middle of my lake. I motioned him to follow and to my amazement he did. A smile came to my face as I swam to him and circled him, a laugh escaping me. I finally had someone who wasn't afraid of me. This man was my friend... no wait, my love.

I was so happy he had come. I wrapped my arms around him and drug him down into my lake the smile never fading from my face. There, under the water, I pressed my lips against his in a kiss. I felt his body change within my grip. His once warm and light body turned cold and heavy. I couldn't hold onto him anymore and I watched his form drift down to the lake floor. His arms streached out like he was holding something, though he was holding me.

Curiously I swam down to meet him thinking he was playing. I ran my hands along his shoulder though he did not react. His face was frozen, eyes wide and expression as if he was gasping for air again like a fish on land. I don't know what happened to him. "He's resting" I would tell myself every day. "Just resting". I really did think he would wake up again and hold me like he had.

Something inside tells me he won't wake up though. Something tells me no one will wake up. He wasn't the last person who did that. They all did. Their bodies turned cold from my kiss and sink to the bottom of my like. Their all my friends though! They never leave me and i'm greatful for that. I'm no longer alone. When I want to play I can swim down to them. Sometimes dance with them and just be with them. Though, they won't speak to me. I don't understand. I didn't do anything wrong did I? Before they would talk to me, tell me how gorgeous I was or how unreal I was then when they got cold, they got quiet.

They're all like the young man. They're all sleeping and when they wake up, we can all play together. Though until then.... i'll just have to play with everyone else who comes to my lake. See if they want to come swimming with me.

Personality: At times Undine is actually a child at heart. She doesn't know much about anything but the ocean. She's shy at times though most of the time she is just looking for a friend. She's been alone for over 300 years and has yet to find someone to be with for the rest of her life. She has a darker personality though hidden undernieth the beauty she possesses. When she wants something or someone she won't hesitate to fight for it and put herself on the line or in the line of danger.

Powers: Undine loves to sing though to men which ends up causing their demise. She lures men to her or if her singing doesn't work or she's really mad she has the strength to leap out of the water using her powerful tail and grab men from their ships and drag them under the sea. She can break waves if too rough and control the water slightly. She doesn't control everything about the ocean though she wishes sometimes. She has the ability to use the seaweed at her advantage as a weapon if need be though this ability causes her great exhaustion. Thus she doesn't like using it. She can make her reflection appear on any clear or reflective surface. That's how she lures most of her men to her. On land she can dry up and if she gets dry enough her tail fades and legs appear. She does not know this is a power of hers because she fears the land. She's very powerful able to break wood and able to get inside of a ship if she needed/wanted. She sometimes forgets her own strength. Her kiss is lethal and can kill a man or well turn them to stone. Through this kiss she steals the men's souls thus turning their bodies into concrete and sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Weakness/Fears: Fire is a major weakness to Undine. It can easily burn her and if trapped dry her out which results in suffocation. The sun can dry her out and give her legs but if she's on land for too long without water hydrating her she can die in human form. So she can only last on land about two hours before she has to be in water to regain her water balance. She has to steal souls in order to survive. Her 'life force' depends on the souls of the people she kills. If she does not have the souls she will weaken and die if she goes too long without a 'meal'.
