[Bio]: Taka's mother and father were wed in traditional Japanese style: it was arranged. It wasn't the best pairing, but after news of pregnancy, they tried their best to make the marriage work. Stress over work and the foreboding challenge of being a parent caused Taka's father to make many trips to the bar. Unfortunately, he developed a severe alcohol addiction and began gambling uncontrollably to gain funds to support it. As his habits spiraled wildly out of control, his wife grew more and more worried. After many failed attempts to correct his behavior, she became fed up, and their differences drove the couple apart. Taka's father left his mother while she was still pregnant. Rumor has it that he's landed himself in jail.

Meanwhile, his mother had to move back in with her father, who helped her prepare for the arrival of the baby. A few months later, she was in labor.

Sadly, she grew very ill after giving birth, and died five days later.

Taka was raised by his grandfather in a humble abode by the sea. Being a wise old sage, his grandfather taught him many, many things about the world, as well as life in general. When he was of proper age, Taka's grandfather explained to him why he doesn't have parents, like the other kids at school. Despite acting childish at times, Taka is actually very mature for his age. He accepts things as they are, and strives to see the good in the world, no matter how dark some things can be. This is why he doesn't mourn his past, and the loss of both parents.

When Taka was very little, his grandfather would take him down to the local candy store on Sundays if he had been good that week. Quickly he developed an affection for sweets, and today it's rare to see him without some sort of sugary treat nearby.

After studying various exotic foods in the culinary class he had taken at school, Taka became very intrigued.... Being one who follows the saying, "I'll try anything at least once", he made it a personal goal to try every exotic food he could find--at least once. Soon after graduating, Taka started his quest. Though he now has a job at that very same candy store he grew up visiting, his curiosity sends him out in search of exotic foods whenever he has some free time.

As a graduation gift, his grandfather gave him a puppy, knowing how much Taka loves them. Taka practically burst with joy as he scooped the puppy up in his arms and gave it a hug as it licked his face. The two became inseparable; the puppy was always by Taka's side, and followed him wherever he went. Because of this faithfulness, Taka named his puppy Tadao, meaning "loyal man" in Japanese.

Taka is a loveable, happy-go-lucky boy with a positive outlook on things. He lives his life just to be happy and prosperous while having fun. And he always strives to accomplish his goals, no matter how insignificant they may be.

P.S. - Taka's favorite color is green (as if you hadn't noticed). He absolutely LOVES the color green, and almost everything he owns is that color. He even bought a green collar for his puppy... |D
