It is said that when the gods created the world, the very first beings were created from light, from matter itself, but these beings were highly unstable, volatile and easily angered.

They also were unwilling to worship their creators and so in a pique of anger the gods destroyed the creations that they had made. Many, many years later, hundreds of thousands actually, the gods once again tried another grand experiment to create life and decided instead to mold these new beings from mud.

The earlier beings had been much too arrogant, much too belligerent and unwilling to hand over control of their lives to those of the gods and so the gods made the new beings more pliant, more willing to curry favor of them.

These beings, to the gods, were much too foolish, and so once again they destroyed their creations.

Lastly, they made their creations from the minerals of the earth, from rubies and diamonds, emeralds and sapphires and discovered that they had found the perfect fit.

Still, the gods were wary of these beings and so they created watchdogs, divine guardians if you will whose sole job was to watch over these beings, guide them in times of need and reign them back when they became too much like their previous counterparts.

Taidoc is one of beings, born from a line of divine celestial beings who has time and again throughout mythology and history gone by different names. They are called angels in modern mythology, animal spirits by another, but their purpose is still the same, to help the humans when they are down, and reign them in when they become too unwilling to listen to the gods.

He is accompanied in his watching by a companion, a small animal that he was given upon request by one of the gods and which he has given a human name. He's not quite sure what it is, nor that it even speaks, but its a worthwhile companion whenever he needs the company.
