Species: Born a human, and basically still is one, except for the fact he was injected with a substance that leaves him immune to most diseases, the drugs in his medical pins, and allergens.
Age: Older than you would think.
Relationship Status: None...he made a pact before taking on his position as 'that kind of doctor' not to get attached to anyone in case he ever needed to make a decision on their life, being as all of his decisions must be unbiased.
History: Classified...all that is known is that he has no recollection of his biological parents, and has a history of odd happenings.
Job: Self-supporting Doctor- he somehow has come into possession of a large finance, so instead works without pay. Origins of the money is unknown by anyone except the doctor himself…
Personality Traits: He is able to be tolerant to everyone he meets up to a certain point, being as he knows he will decide their fate at some point or another...that is, if they're meeting him in his office. Usually he orders his things online, unless they are groceries, and bluntly ignore the smalltalk fed to him by the cashiers or anyone else. Since he has no interest in getting close to anyone, he finds it remarkably easy to snap at people, which sometimes ends up making him guilty during the aftermath. However, he will always give everyone a fair chance if he decides to end or continue their life.

"No, I don't have an appointment," she rasped irritably, her clogged up throat struggling to enunciate the words. "Do you really think in my condition I'd bother to make one? It's not like you're full, anyway. I had enough trouble driving here...you shouldn't offer free service if you're just going to turn people away."
Unfazed by her rudeness, the doctor smiled pleasantly and reached for a clipboard near his computer. "It's understandable. Just follow me to one of the rooms, and you can give me a full report on your symptoms."
Without another word, she bluntly followed him, not throwing a single glance at any of the annoyed patients who remained in the waiting room. The doctor felt their irked gazes, but knew that, if they deserved it, they would get their needed treatment soon. A white door with bits of paint chipping off swung open, and he gestured inside with more spirit than intended. The woman snorted, unamused by the paintings of animals on the wall, and waved her hand.
"You make this seem like a children's office," she snorted, and crossed her arms. "Normal, sensible people would prefer plain walls so their eyes don't swim."
Syringe kept his mouth in a tight, straight line. He knew that bright colors and detailed images could prove harmful to some people, so he had painted simple pieces on the wall in light pastel colors. It didn't have any negative effects, so why should this arrogant patient act as if so? The doctor tsked lightly and flipped the clipboard to a new page, setting his pen on the line that said name.
"What's your name?" He asked politely, hoping to be able to keep a firm grip on his manners throughout the whole session.
Blinking at him, she took a seat in the yellow chair. "Maura Richardson."
While the next five minutes or so passed on without so much as a snide comment or ungrateful eye roll, Syringe felt like he already knew the decision to be made. The two vials seemed to become more dramatic in temperature, one pocket almost burning against his skin and the other chilling him to the bone. It was tolerable though, despite the fact his hands itched to use them.
"All right, before you list your symptoms, let me write something down quickly."
He placed the clipboard next to the table beside the yellow chair, aware of Maura's fierce gaze on the back of his head. He pretended to shake the pen, as if it had run out of ink, and tossed it to the side. It clattered onto the table, and he reached into his pocket as if grabbing another. Instead, he withdrew a small pin, an eyeless skull pulsing a golden glow on its handle. He turned to her, the pin still not visible to her, and in one swift, rapid motion, jabbed the pin into her arm.
"Wha-"
Her voice died out and her head rolled back, her eyes fluttering shut in the sea of sleep. Where the pin stuck out of her arm, no blood flowed out. It was that good...he smiled. The silence that followed seemed delicious compared to the number of insults and complaints she had fired at him in the past moments, and he took a moment to stare at the annoying being before him. He wanted to take the vial right then and there, coat the pin, and finish the job, but knew he had to check everything first to make sure that it was the right thing to do.
He opened up one of the lower cabinets, selecting a syringe, and carefully injected it into her skin. Filling it up with a bit of blood, he extracted the right amount and removed it, dabbing the small hole in her skin with a cotton ball. He put on a simple bandage on it and set to work, his heart rate quickening with the normal excitement of his work. The two vials seemed to vibrate in his hands as they were freed from his pocket.
One was filled with a fiery crimson liquid, bubbling up inside, though the special glass of the vial kept the outside cooler than it would have been. The stopper was fitted with a single red thread that had been tied around it. In comparison to the first vial, the second was the exact opposite, its contents a chilling emerald and what appeared to be the start of a frozen surface. Like the first, the glass kept it warm enough so that he wouldn't get frostbite if he touched the vial.
"Let's see," he murmured to himself, and emptied the syringe into a small dish.
Uncorking both vials, he poured a drop of each into the dish of blood. They fizzled and hissed, a small bit of steam wriggling from the mixture. There was a rapid flapping of wings, and a small winged creature with a smoky pelt and four legs dove in for a landing. A colorful feather tinted with all the colors of the rainbow fluttered down, landing in the blood. It sizzled as well, and was eaten up by the solution.
"Thanks, Hua," Syringe told the Raiphyr, and stroked the creature's head with one hand before focusing back on the blood. "Let's see what has happened to her."
The Raiphyr flapped its wings and shot up to the doctor's shoulder, nestling in its usual position. Together, they gazed solemnly at the blood with such intensity, anyone that came in would have thought they were crazy. Slowly, their surroundings melted around them, taking with them the knocked out woman and the mixture. Smells blasted at them from every angle, the first sense to emerge.
The darkness began to ebb away, and Syringe took the moment to analyze his surroundings. A multicolored tent stood to his left, an irritated-looking clown taking tickets and accepting people into the tent. Next to him, a brightly lit sign announced the arrival of John-Bob's Circus. A little boy dropped his corn dog while running in, paused, and burst into tears. His mother quickly ushered him inside, mumbling about something that probably wouldn't make sense to people who weren't parents.
Hua squawked and dove for the corn dog, only to crash short of it.
"Remember, we can only go as far as her memory in this place, and we can't touch or change anything. She must not have gone to the circus part of the fair...and...there she is." Syringe blinked at the small, dark-haired girl racing between people on the line towards the Ferris Wheel, a plush tiger in her arms.
A sturdy man, his body heaving as he fought for breath, attempted to follow her path. "Maura! Maura, come back! I can't run that fast..."
Ignoring him, she dodged a lady burdened with four coats and the prizes her children won and darted into the front of the line, much to the dismay of other waiters. The next person up was a child, around her age, with dirty blonde hair and petrified emerald eyes behind a pair of glasses. Tears spilled down his cheeks as his father yelled at him publically.
"I spent money on this, I expect you to get on!" The man rumbled, as if he was unaware he was in public.
The boy burst into another wave of tears. "I don't want to go!"
Syringe watched, his face emotionless, as he continued to cry. His heart went out to the boy, but he knew this was the past, and the past wasn't worth crying over. Hua had inched back, frightened at the loud volume of the man's voice, and settled himself down in the curve of his leather shoes, folding his wings around his head to drown out the noise.
Maura, her face bright with youth and joy instead of the grumpiness that they had known back in the office, leaped into the ride. "I'll go with you," she offered, and the slightest blush crept into her cheeks.
His sobbing slowed down to sniffing, and he looked at her, then back at his father.
"Didn't you just hear?" he yowled, and shoved his son towards the swinging car, "She'll go with you. It's not scary."
The ride attendant looked flustered, unsure of what to do, until the man shut the door and advanced on him. He didn't need to say anything; the attendant swiveled around and began the ride. The wails of the child increased as he felt himself rise higher into the air, and the doctor with his assistant began to be pulled into the cart as the memory became limited to the confined space. There was a light buzzing noise as they passed through the ghosts of the past, until they hovered near the two children.
"It's all right," Maura said, her voice not as peppy as before. "I'm scared of them too."
He didn't respond, continuing to snivel pathetically.
She continued. "We can talk to make the time pass faster, if you want." Her eyes turned to him, prodding him to say something.
Gradually, his body began to stop shaking, and he removed his bleary face from his hands. "O-okay."
Slowly but surely, they launched into a conversation full of laughs and memories. About two minutes in, their surroundings began fading again, not to the familiar office room, but to a living room. There was screaming and the scent of fear in the air that caused Hua to fluff up his feathers and retreat even deeper into his armpit. A chill crept over Syringe's body, and he reminded himself that it was simply the past...nothing more.
"You killed him, you killed him!" Maura, at least 10 years older than the one at the carnival, kneeled by a limp form on the floor, a dark pool of red staining the carpet.
"No, I didn't," A voice rasped, and Syringe cringed as he saw the man that had sent the young boy into tears that day. "I've always taught him that discipline was power."
Her body was shaking as she held the other man on the floor, her eyes blazing with rage. "How could you shoot your own son?"
The air grew thick with intensity, and suddenly the surroundings melted away again, though not before an additional scream pierced the air. Hua was chattering, his claws digging into Syringe's ankle in a desperate plea to go back. The doctor ignored it though; he had promised to see it through.
Whiteness greeted them as a hospital room came into view. Machines beeped at a steady rhythm, and an unfamiliar woman that could have been Maura's mother sat by the bed. Syringe didn't have to look at the face of the patient to know who it was.
"I'm so sorry," The visitor croaked, her voice thick with pain. "He lost too much blood."
From beneath the bandages and blankets, Maura sniffled. In an even shorter time span than the previous memory, everything shifted and Syringe opened his eyes to find himself staring at the small dish of blood again. Hua unwrapped himself from the doctor's foot and quickly flew to his perch in the ceiling, slipping through a small gap that patients wouldn't pay much attention to.
The doctor watched him until the last of his tail disappeared into the shadows, gratitude pulsing through him. The Raiphyr was never forced to come, but sensing Syringe's yearning for companionship during the judging, he went along anyway, even if he knew what horrible things he would see. Noisy breathing brought the doctor back to his senses, and he looked down at Maura, who had lost her husband and childhood friend right in front of her eyes.
He withdrew the yellowy pin from her arm, no blood oozing from it still, and uncorked the vial filled with the green liquid. Pouring it into an additional dish, he dabbed it in the liquid once, and held it up to the light to watch the pin shift and form. Two drops on the surface of the eyeless skull quivered and began sinking into it, until two green eye holes stared at him. He glanced back at Maura, knowing that the sleeping effect would last for another five minutes, and gently placed the pin in her other arm.
"I'm sorry that you've gone through so much," he murmured, sympathy swelling his heart. "You must still live despite what you've gone through, and you've touched upon the lives of those who were cut short."
He stared at the pin, watching, as the green eyes began to dim. The liquid entered her system, healing any complications for the time, and giving her pristine health only able to be achieved with that pin. As soon as the emerald eyes dissolved back into empty sockets in the skull of the pin, he carefully took it out, tossing it into a garbage bag he would burn later. He peeled the bandage off the other arm, knowing the healing elixir would have already covered that.
Then he simply sat there, waiting for her to awaken.
A few minutes passed when she did, her eyes opening and closing slowly as her vision began to clear up. She immediately sat upright, bringing a hand her head.
"You seem a bit drowsy. Is that one of your symptoms?" He asked pleasantly, reverting back to the position of not a sympathetic onlooker, but a neutral doctor.
She stared at him for a moment, as if not realizing who he was, and then shook her head. "No...actually, I feel fine." Her voice resounded clearly, without any congestion.
"Well, you must have had a miracle moment." Smiling, he opened the door. "You can come back if you experience anymore symptoms...you may have allergies, with this weather and all."
"Y...yes," Maura sputtered, and got up shakily, wrapping her coat tightly around her. "Anyway, thanks?"
As she stepped out the door, he briefly pondered sending her his best regards in coping, but remembered he wasn't supposed to know about that. He was that kind of doctor- he couldn't go beyond the border of doctor and patient moments. Some experiences were best left to those that were included in it. Expelling a sigh, he walked to the waiting room and called in the next patient.
