Sodiro was not always a living, breathing being. She is a unique denizen of the forest, living deep within the cover of thick canopies and old, gnarled trunks that are as wide as a house. She was once one of the great ancient trees, a golden-leafed jewel of the earth, and of her height and age no one could guess. Many tried to find her, out of awe or curiosity or greed, but very few succeeded.
She was the only one of her kind that existed, now or ever, and with the legends surrounding her, more explorers than ever before went questing to find her dwelling place. This was not how it was meant to be, she knew, and the powerful, ancient magic coursing through her branches pulsed and quickened. Life poured into Sodiro, and within a night she was no great tree anymore, but a creature with eyes and legs and wings and claws.
With this new gift of thought and movement, she has kept herself hidden, eluding any who would seek fame for finding her.
