How long had it been since she truly had a break?
Years, so many years.
Unless, of course, you wanted to count the two-year span that she spent as a chunk of meat with tubes running through her.
Now that would be a story to tell the grandkids.
Assuming she ever had any, of course.
The galaxy was depending on her.
And when Shepard stopped and felt philosophical: they almost seemed like one giant entity looking up at her with large, pleading eyes.
"Save us! Please, help!"
Other times? She wanted to say "DAMN THEM!"
Wanted to run off with her Turian and tell them to solve their own problems.
But she couldn't, no matter how much she truly wanted to. They needed her.
She had a good crew, strong allies, and way too much heart for her line of work.
Atleast she had as much bravery to go along with that heart.
