Gently claws scraped at the dirt, having to be careful in case fragile bone rested there. Sniffing at the ground, he smelled something, the stench was old and not of dirt or at least not completely. Out of nowhere he felt something hot hit his cheek and that was saying something as it was already hot. Turning his head the creature bared it's teeth. Showing fangs and a rat like tooth.
"What? You didn't see that coming?" Came a squeaky voice. "Rat!" He scolded walking over to the small creature. "What are you doing here!? I'm trying to dig." He said starting to the tap the ground with the claws on his right foot. He wasn't feeling impatient but he didn't like taking fire to the face.
"Com on Ven it was a little funny." Rat said with a squeaky laugh.
"I could have destroyed a find." Ven said his voice icy calm. "Now what did you come for?" he asked. Watching as the rat took on a human form, wearing a t-shirt and jeans. With a sigh he turned human as well. Currently only wearing a pair of ripped shorts. The heat was too much for anything else.
Lead his friend to his trailer and inside. "Really you don't keep it colder in here with that heat outside?" Rat said. Ven just shook his head. "No. No need I'm hardly in here and what does it matter to you, aren't you always hot?" He said.
"Tou che" Rat said. "I came to pull you off your dig. " At this Ven starting tapping his fingers on his right leg. "W-what?" He glanced around. "Why?"
"I have a job for you, it'll be fine. It'll make you famous."
All Ven could do was stand there dumbfounded.
