- adventurous, but a procrastinator to a fault, dislikes mundane, repetitive actions
- only irated when bored, not very temperamental, but optimistic and very luck driven
- archer, centaur, fire(carefree attitude), Jupiter (luck)
- truth-seeker, looking for ultimate knowledge
- Livings in the Forest constellation in the sky (think trees and brush made of stars)
Centaur is a true Sagittarius. He is independent and values said freedom. He will even go as far as to revolve his whole life around the notion of being his own person. He can also at times, seem detached from other for it. However, he as liberated as he likes to feel, when a friend needs him, he will be there in a heartbeat. As a result, if you befriend Cantaur, you can expect him as a friend for life. And those that do get to know him find that is is an good listen, but an excellent conversationalist as well, with a great sense of humor.
They may also find him as adventurous free spirit with a bit of a dreamy conscious. In an attempt to procrastinate and put off mundane tasks, he will often simply forget they exist! Thus, when he is forced to do something, he will often sacrifice time, using roundabout methods to stave off any repetitiveness. Still, many find that he is not a very temperamental creature unless bored. Then he is prone to childish fits and frustration until something else piques his interest.
Centaur is also very optimistic and believes highly in luck. When his luck is good, he believes it will always be such. And when it has turned dark, he is always hopeful that it will turn back around in his favor. Still, he considers himself a truth-seeker, looking for the ultimate boughs of knowledge in the Tree of Life.
Descriptions: Centaur is a depiction of his namesake - the body of a horse and man hybrid. His lower half is that of a thoroughbred; lithe, but powerful. His humanoid upper body also ripples with strength. His fur and skin are both tanned the color of maple. His long mane is a dark chestnut color, held back with a bark thong. His eyes are a forest green, and he is never without a bow and quiver to his back. However, he also does have some unusual, more wooden features. His hooves almost look ligneous with the swirling of bark and knots. His tail and main have foliage appearing to sprout of it it. Even his movements are much like a branch moving in the wind. And when he is hot, he gives off the odor of burnt wood.
Personality: Like many of his kind, he is a strongly independent person. He enjoys being able to set his own pace and do what he wishes. He becomes frustrated when he is unable to do that. He is also prone to childish boredom that makes him irritable when he finds nothing to do. However, Centaur is overall a very loving and optimistic person. He is dependable and will come running when you need him. He is a good listener as well as a excellent advice giver. And as a result, he can always find a way out of the darkest holes and bring a little sunshine into anyone's life.
Strengths: Centaur is especially renowned for his archery skills. His poise and self-confidence help him succeed when taking a difficult shot. And it is something he is quite fond of. His creative intuitive is another strength that helps him mull over many difficult situations and he can always find the perfect solution. Many people will often come to him for advice and stay for companionship, as a result. He has the ability to make you feel like he is everyone's best friend, including yours. This is validated in thAt he is always willing to make time for anyone. In addition, his optimism is infectious - lighting up any somber room with just a flash of a smile.
Weaknesses: Centaur's adventurous nature can be seen as a weakness. When he feels that his mind and body are not being stimulated he becomes impatient and bored. He has a difficult time doing mundane tasks, leading him to procrastinate. Fits of boredom are often displayed in exasperated frustration, which leads him to seclude himself until he can come up with the next great activity. This causes, many times, over the top schemes which can be difficult to remove himself from. It is only with the guidance of a friend or two will he leave a notion behind.
Biography: Centaur's history is tangled in the past; it becomes quite muddled the farther back one looks. He has been said to have existed in one form or another since the dawn of the Universe. However, one thing has always been constant - he has always walked the Celestials, which he considers his home. Many centuries have been spent wandering the forest of stars in the skies and influencing the lives of mortals.
In his domain, he is the King of the Hunt. He preys on all, but also protects though who need him most. As such, Centaur has become more than just a brutish ruler. He has promoted learning, even at its core. Enlightenment and self-improvement are the crux of his teachings. Over the millenniums, he encourages self-expression, liberty and freedoms, and the ever expansive thirst for knowledge. Over time, he has grown to become almost like a patron deity for scholars and philosophers as well as adventurers and explorers. Many innovations could not have been made without his guidance and mentorship. It is said that when his arrow flies from his bow, its mark is granted a struck of brilliance.
The Eternal Flame also gains its origin from Centaur. It is said that once he challenged a man to keep a tamed flame burning for three days. If he could accomplish that, he would know all this universe had to offer. And henceforth, the flame became his symbol - wild and dangerous, but with careful cultivation, it can shed light on the darkest corners.
To this day, Centaur still lives in his celestial home, encouraging enlightenment and self-promotion; though, man has long forgotten him. Still, he prays when they look to the sky and see Sagittarius, they feel the call of the wild in their bones.
Short Story:
Do not grow attached, dear, for they are never meant to survive long.
Those words swirled familiarly in Centaur's head as he gazed upon those primitive creatures. They were like his kind, with strong upper bodies and a proud head. Their hands could be used for molding. Their eyes forward to see only what is ahead. They had nothing to fear from behind. Those sparking two orbs were also curious - far more curious than any other creature. They darted around in attempt to see and understand all; though, they could not understand much.
The herd he was watching were particularly interesting. The females dug in the dirt for roots and tubers, while the males attempted to hunt in the early morning light, not far off from the youngins’ resting place. Still, they had not the tooth nor weapon strong enough to take down their prey. Therefore, they were forced to scavenge their meat from another's kill before reluctantly returning home.
If only there was a way to civilize them. To teach them the art of proper communication and strategy. And to show them how to properly hunt. The celestial being mused to himself, but to no avail. Even the thought of watching these creatures made him anxious. He wasn’t even meant to be here, let alone thinking about them. He had been told that the mammals were lost a cause. There was no help for this species - only waiting and watching for them to become extinct like their brethren.
But the next day, mankind had a marvelous surprise. Sharp tools to hunt and dig with found their way into the camp. If only Man knew what to do with them. If only Man knew how to craft and maintain their own. However, their mysterious benefactor was nowhere to be seen. Still, some by miracle, Man slowly learned. They crafted, they cultivated, they civilized.
The beasts that the Celestials had mocked and called nothing more than apes - the last of a dying genus - became something more than apes. They became human…
Soon the humans began to discover fire. They learned out how keep it and tend it and create it out of seemingly nothing. They created articles meant to help and make life easier. They even began to craft things for luxury. They may have faltered and failed at times, but they always persevered. These animals’ ingenuity spanned continents in many unique ways.
Do not grow attached, for Mankind are never meant to survive long. Centaur been told.
And perhaps, they were right; humans were never meant flourish on this planet, let alone survive. But Centaur was glad that they did. He was pleased that he showed them the way. For they were interesting creatures, at least.
