Pippa is a strange girl who has the power to talk to animals with her mind. She grew up with this special gift and it left her loving and appreciating animals even more. She was on her way through the forest when she heard an animal begging for help. She raced towards the calls and finds a terrified pup next to this human who is looking into the water at himself. She listens to the animal trying to get his attention but he can't talk to his human, what is even stranger is that she can also hear the man's thoughts. She walks slowly towards the two and she places a hand on the man leaning over towards the water. He freaks out and he starts to lose his balance and she reaches out to help him and he pulls her into the water. They try to catch their breath as they sit face to face looking at each other. She can read hear his thoughts and she says out loud that it isn't nice to talk that way and he freaks out asking her how she can even hear him. She explains her power and tells him she doesn't know how she can hear him since he isn't an animal. He then explains to her that he wasn't always a human and he woke up this way. She was scared and intrigued at his story. He gets up and helps her out of the water and they end up walking together through the forest. Her heard was racing as he stared at her as they walked. She never knew that he would mean so much to her.
