Although Peloquin gives off the appearance of being a "loner," there are hints occasionally that he might have actually been somewhat outgoing in his previous home. Lucien spotted what might have been a smile on Pel's face when they both saw Elvis tackle Ari right into a mud puddle. (He says "There were teeth. They weren't scary...much. And I think there were dimples.") Elvis swears that he's heard Pel whispering to Narcisse when they were alone, but says that he didn't understand a word of what Pel was murmuring. (Which isn't saying much, considering Elvis' attention span.) And then there's those intricate morning exercises that resemble a bizarre mix of taekwondo and the tango...
Given the aura of mystery about him, Peloquin's presence has caused some unease amongst his siblings. That was to be expected, as the newest member of the family. His awkward silence at most family gatherings hasn't helped matters though. Bava was quick enough to realize that it's not an intentional effort to alienate anyone, rather a simple language barrier. Bava's own speech impediment made him immediately sympathetic to Peloquin's plight, and he began privately tutoring him (much to Pel's quiet relief).
