Peggy born to a stray cat called Xena. She and her siblings where born in a boat but one day, during a storm, their mother moved them all inside the house. This is how I ended up having not only meowing kittens as room mates but also their mother, which had never been in the house before.
Once the kittens started walking around, I noticed one was walking funny. While the others where jumping and climbing everything, this one was limping around and falling. When I examined her I saw that her back leg was not formed completely. She had a "leg" but no paw? Her skin formed around her stump and when she walked you could see the shape of her bone coming down inside her skin, this was bad as the blood in her leg was not circulating right and was collecting inside her extra skin. So we took her to get her leg amputated.
Having only three legs hasn't stopped or slowed this cat down. Peggy is now a sweet, demanding, hyper cat. Her older step-brother Orion became a second "mother" to her after Xena passed. You would always see those two sleeping, cleaning each other and/or playing with one another. Peggy has also became a great huntress, with the extra power in her single back leg. She can now jump up higher and even run faster to catch butterflies or birds. She loves tuna and being scratched where she can't reach. She is the Alpha Female and will chase dogs and cats away from the house.
(Peggy must get her strength from her mother. Xena once scared/chased a UPS driver)
