What is an Ood?
The Ood, also known as Oodkind, were a gestalt race of telepathic humanoids who originated from the Ood Sphere. They are a humanoid species with tentacles on lower portion of their faces. They have no vocal cords, so they communicate telepathically. They have two brains. One in the head, and the other connects to the face and to a little ball-sphere that is normally held in hand. In the 39th century humans discovered them, and used them as slaves-within three galaxies. The Doctor has rescued them several times, and maybe the Ood will find peace someday.
