Recall's future profile c:
"Oh, hello there. The name's Recall.
What? Recall is a strange name, you say? Well, my
real name is not Recall. But that's what they call me around these parts.
How did I get this silly name, you ask? Why do they call me this? Well, my friend, you'd better take a seat; my stories are not brief.
It all started when I was two years of age; a mere kitten. My pristine white fur complimented my hazy purple eyes, and made my vibrant wings appear even brighter. I was the best looking feline in my village, if I should say so myself.
All of the other kits longed to play with me. Ask me out on a date. One day, my best friend, Alice, asked me to play with her after school. Of course, I accepted her offer, but before we both took off to our classes, Alice turned around and said, "promise?'
That word, 'promise'. It added a whole new feeling of excitement to going over to Alice's. Before I knew it I would end the conversation by saying, 'I will be there. I promise'.
For many years later, every time I made a promise, I always kept it, for it was frowned upon to break something as important as a verbal promise.
However, promises can pile up very quickly, with only one getting accomplished at a time.
The day of the village carnival Alice had planned, I promised her that I would be the vice chairman in her staff. She giggled her familiar giggle, eager to see me later that night.
Later that day, the tom-cat I had been crushing on for so long asked me out on a date that night. Completely forgetting about my promise to Alice, I accepted, and of course, promised to go out with him. How was my date, you ask? Well, it was one of the best nights of my life, no doubt about that! But, I often think back and wonder, was it really worth bailing on my best friend?
My date and I went out to dinner, we talked, and we hiked to the top of the mountain overlooking our entire village.
That's when I saw carnival lights smack-dab in the center of our village.
I had completely forgotten and utterly broken the promise I had made to Alice.
Without wasting a single second, I sprinted down to the carnival. However, I was too late. By the time i reached Alice, she had already spread the news about my broken promise.
And you cannot break a promise in my village, oh no, not in my village. For the rest of the night, all I could hear around me were whispers of disappointed citizens I had known for my whole life. They all whispered, 'I can't believe she recalled her promise to Alice!'
The news of my broken promise floated around town for close to a year. Pretty soon, the phrase 'she-cat who recalled her promise' evolved into a nickname: Recall. And it stuck. Up until this very day.
So now you know. Now you know how I got this ridiculous epithet. And that keeping a promise is just as important as making one. Because once you break a promise, my friend, you are labeled for life."
