Layla: Female Arabic name meaning dark beauty.
Beautiful and constantly moving, Layla is a bit like a hummingbird flitting through sunbeams. She's slender with a classic hourglass figure -- but not exactly thin -- and short. A voluminous mass of silvery-grey curls, reflecting a rainbow of colors depending on the light, falling past her waist sharply contrasts her warm olive skin. With bright brown eyes and graceful steps, she radiates energy.
Layla is as bright and curious as her appearance suggests. She comes off somewhat childlike, getting her nose into everything and always having something to say. Despite her big mouth she has an excellent sense of how her words will be received. Being quite articulate, Layla is known for how easily she can then manipulate others during conversation, though she's too honest to truly use this skill to its full advantage. Occasionally her pent up energy will get the best of her tongue and she'll be a little too honest without even realizing it. She tends to jump and flit about a lot, always looking for something new to do or see or a new person to meet. Her liveliness means a very hot temper, however, and she's not very good at controlling it.
Layla possesses a weak ability to see the future. Only the surest of events are revealed to her and she usually has to be where it will take place to even get a hint of what will happen. Even then what she sees isn't set in stone. Her most devastating ability, however, happens at a touch -- she can drain and weaken your body until you are a withered, living skeleton. This takes quite the weakness of will on part of the victim, however, and touch must be maintained or the magic stops. It weakens Layla considerably and leaves her extremely vulnerable for a long time afterwards.
