Lancia's beginning was far from ideal. Found on Sylph Beach during a winter storm by Baetus and Wren, many speculated that the mysterious baby had come from over the ocean - an act which required going through many a Shawhee feeding ground to get to where he was now. Such an act gave Lancia more attention then he could ever want from a very early age, and this trend continued up until he and Wren left the village upon discovering the Zero Web.

It took destroying the Web for Lancia to finally be struck down. Having grown up defending the island village from numerous threats, Lancia was strong in both mind and body, but fighting against a Sage that had once balanced the very web he sought to destroy was exhausting. Once Lancia's memories were wiped, it was accepted that Lancia himself might never get better. Wren took him to his original home, a village surrounded by greenery, in hopes that the boy's memory would return. Eventually, it did. However, it took being kidnapped and living in the ash mines for them to do so, as well as Lancia's previously-mute voice to finally start working.

By the time Lancia returned to the village after nearly five years away, things had changed. Wren had begun seeking a new apprentice in hopes of getting over his agony of losing Lancia, and many of the elders were preparing for the upcoming ceremonies to notice when he entered the village again. Lancia didn't speak to anyone, instead kept pretending to be mute, part of him too embarrassed to let the noise he had spent his life without loose. It was during this time that Lancia's powers began to reveal themselves. His element, once uncertain, revealed itself as the element of nature, just as Wren's was. Like his master before him Lancia was powerful, but unlike his master he was able to call upon the more ancient plants to serve him.

When danger threatened the village, Lancia used these powers to keep a rockslide in place, re-announcing his arrival in the process. Wren, stunned by how much his apprentice had grown, welcomed him with open arms. A few speculated that in time Lancia might become even stronger than Wren, a process that was even more natural than the return of his voice. Lancia remained alongside his teacher -- and eventual lover -- until the day Wren died in battle.

He has taken up the mantle as a Sage, and keeps balance with the other new Sages.
