The Gods Reawakened
A long time ago there existed a pantheon of gods, siblings, dedicating their life to keeping the balance of the world they protected. One of them was Lakanidyan, the goddess of the stars and carrier of souls. In her human form she appeared as a delicate and pale woman, with long obsidian hair that almost reached to her knees, a pair of antlers growing from her head like a crown and another pair protectively curling around her shoulders. She was wearing a long robe the color of the night sky that hid most of her form, and a featureless white mask hid her face, a painted pair of elegantly shaped pitch black eyes being the only kind of decoration on the mask. Her beast form was that of a deer, with a pelt black as night, contrasted only by her white face that still looked as if it were covered by the mask, only that now the black eyes were her own, calm and full of knowledge. She would travel through the night sky, high up to the Astral Fog and beneath the earth into the Gardens of the Deep, carrying the souls of the departed on her antlers and leading them to their destined afterlife. But eventually the power of the gods began to fade, they were forgotten by the mortals and died. The only thing left by the gods were their familiars, they would not forget. Lakanidyan's Hadakku, star spirits in the form of wisps, were relentlessly trying to find a way to still save their goddess. Soon they realized that as long as she still lived in their memory, there was a chance. They used the power of the stars and sacrificed their own lives to awaken those memories. Thus the goddess had been reborn, but she was not the same anymore. Now she was more of a spirit than a god, and only her beast form remained, though it was changed, reflecting the energy of the stars that gave her new life. Her mask was gone as well, a sacred tradition among the gods, which proved even more to her that now she wasn't a god anymore. Her appearance was not the only thing that has changed, her personality was affected as well, mainly due to it being mostly rebuilt from the memories of the Hadakku. She had another problem, she was missing many of her own memories, especially those from the very beginning of her first life. But she still remembered her siblings and thought that perhaps there was a way to bring them back as well. Only a few of her Hadakku remained and they told her that many years had passed by now since the gods died, most of the other familiars have scattered throughout other worlds. So she made the decision that she would travel through worlds as well and try to find the stray familiars in hopes that it would lead her to bringing back her lost siblings.
