Power. Wonder. Heroism.
Those are the leading factors of one wanting to become a magical being. There is no other reason, for everything ties to one of these at the root. Upon finding this land, I've noticed hardly a difference. The ones here were no different from Earth, in the fact that their emotions worked rather similarly. It was a strange thing, how emotions seemed to be universal. There was no race that harbored them differently from other ones, but rather the way they were viewed changed. In Earth, humans shamed each other for certain kinds of emotions, but it also depended on the situation. Here, in Mistica, it seemed any emotion of any kind was embraced...provided there was no "evil" intent.
I could never come to understand what they saw as evil though, it seemed to change from being to being, place to place. But, as an Incubator, and as one aiming to prevent entropy, it is my job to find a way to harness this energy. There is one function my body has, this circle on my back. This is the compartment that could be considered eating away any emotion I could have. It eats emotions, turns them into energy, and releases them into the universe. Earth had no creatures that could do this, nor does Mistica. However, this place seems to value emotions, especially the positive ones. I shouldn't go around stealing what they want, that would devalue these creatures to a level of cattle. I am not here to change the order of systems that exist, I am not important enough to deem myself free to do such actions. Rather, I am meant to do my work silently and leave, without a trace that I had done a thing. If anything, I should give everyone I approach a choice. I will not steal their emotions like my own body does for me. I will not make them what I am, but missing the only purpose that makes my existing this way purposeful. Instead, I will gift them the power to use emotions as a weapon of sorts. This system that I created in my head was complicated, and had many twists. I will leave it to the Misticans whether they wanted to be a part of this cycle, and if sacrificing their lives as they know it now would be worth the reward they chose to recieve.
