The Church Grim, Kirk Grim, Kyrkogrim (Swedish) or Kirkonvaki (Finnish) is a figure from English and Scandinavian folklore, said to be an attendant spirit, overseeing the welfare of its particular church. English Church Grims are said to enjoy loudly ringing the bells. They may appear as black dogs.
The Swedish Kyrkogrim are said to be the spirits of animals sacrificed by early Christians at the building of a new church. In parts of Europe, including Britain and Scandinavia, a completely black dog would be buried alive on the north side of the grounds of a newly built church, creating a guardian spirit, the church grim, in order to protect the church from the devil.

Name: Unknown Aliases: Church Meaning: He was buried at and lives in a church. Age: Unknown; appears to be in his early 20s. Height/Weight: 6'2"/216lbs Race: Church Grim; appears to have originally been a mutt Ethnicity: British Home: City of London, Greater London, England Occupation: Church Grim of St. Paul's Cathedral (acts as security and takes care of the grounds) Orientation: Open; flirts with just about anyone in his human form
Noticeable Traits: Regardless of form, Church smells faintly of recently dug soil at all times, and the air around him feels slightly chilled. A black collar is apparent in both forms, and there's no obvious way to take it off. Dog - Large, almost wolfish in appearance. Glowing, completely yellow eyes. Faint shroud of mist surrounding body. Occasionally pretends to breathe/leave traces of fire (illusions to protect the church). Human - Shaggy black hair. Yellow eyes (iris only, no glow unless he wills it). Dresses in typical clothes; jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, tennis shoes, etc. Looks somewhat out of place in a church. Typically only has mist trailing behind him during full and new moons or just before/after changing forms.
