The Stars in the Sky
The city burns beneath; a flurry of lights as wings of fire prepares to take his leave and shades of vibrant scarlet and sunset orange fade into violets and dark blues. Glass buildings glow with renewed vigour, artificial lights and neon signs masking the vibrant burst of light the stars emit.
Irises of dark abyss, swirling with shades of violet and red carrying untold stories and unfinished songs peek curiously from his perch on the clouds. Kai tilts his head as a breeze of red flies past, the last remnants of sunset fading into darkness, a flutter of wings and warmth, before the cold of the night returns.
He listens to the muffled shouts coming from below, all combining into a hazy murmur, listens as the music of the night drowns in the incoherent sounds of revving engines and loud shouts. Pushing himself off his perch, he stretches his dark azure wings before he strides across the clouds and begins.
Do you see it? The city's glow obscures and hides, but look up once in a while and look closely... How about now? Do you see?
The way the night sky drifts across its dark expanse, carrying silver gems along with it? Do you see how the constellations glide gracefully across seemingly endless abyss? If you look closely, you will see stars move as if they dance to the rhythm of the skies, the music of the wind, the smooth pulse of the night.
If you look closely, you will see a cascade of stars, lines mapping whole constellations across sharp shoulder blades and a lean back. The flex of muscle as his body moves in the most fluid and graceful of ways, the constellations, whole cosmos expanding and distorting against smooth, unblemished skin.
The movement of the stars mirror the glide of his body across the endless sky. A sharp flick of his wrists sets his fingertips alight like fireflies against midnight black, slicing through air setting the deepest blue canvas ablaze with the life of cosmos; all polished down to the faintest movements, down to the swirl of the air and the tranquil silence of the blanket of darkness, heavy with untold stories, unshed tears and lost music.
Silence fall across the land as he moves - like water, flowing over a river of sapphire and pebbles of silver, weaving flawlessly and effortlessly, nothing to stop him. The way his body curves and bows and turns; it speaks of unsaid words, sculpted in the form of lean, tan skin, translated into smooth glides and shaped with elegant steps as he dances across his midnight stage...
