Compiling the list of Naughty and Nice...
As a child she displayed a tendency towards order from very young. Toys lined up by size or colour. It was not a compulsion as such but more of a hobby. She enjoyed putting things back where they belonged. As she got older and learnt the written language she started to compile lists, as children do. Her favourite things, vegetables that she didn't like, all the colours she could think of. The usual. However she found herself becoming more intrigued by writing and categories so sought out to join the Scribe's Institute. At first they were amused but quickly realised her potential and so permitted her to join and steered her down the path of a List Maker. She has never regretted this decision. Her skills quickly earned her the name of Index.
The profession of a List Maker is a respectable one. They are those who would give written order to the chaos of the world. They are available for hire and often see their employment peak around the festive season with people requiring lists to be made of gifts, gifts recipients, food to be made and groceries to be bought. Index of course did take on these sort of jobs when she began but it was obvious she could do so much more and so when a request arrived from the office of Mistmas Affairs she could hardly contain her excitement. She had been invited to accept employment as the official scribe of the Naughty and Nice list. It was practically the highest honour a List Maker could have bestowed upon them and so naturally she said yes. The list takes up a good portion of the year to organise but she doesn't mind. In her free time Index enjoys reading and travelling, marking them off her To Read and To See lists.
