Grendel is a quirky sort of creature. He bears upon his shoulders the ability to travel through time and space. In his original world teleportation is the norm. He was enlisted to carry messages over long distances for his unusually swift teleportation abilities. It wasn't long after he started this business that he realized his untapped potential. Unlike his fellows, he could travel farther, and pierce the fabric of time and the vast nothingness, not just between worlds, but between dimensions as well. Tempted by the great unknown, Grendel left his planet.
In most of the places Grendel goes, he is much more advanced than the civilizations around him. He refers to himself as a god. He intimidates and interferes when he feels like it. He prides himself in being the stuff of nightmares, but his attitude stops there; he has abstained from causing physical harm and swears he never will. That doesn't stop him from messing with the mortals, trapping them and causing them fear.
Grendel has made a name for himself in this galaxy and still does what he does best: he takes messages and he delivers them. Except now, it is not mail or mundane packages, it is life-changing advice, or blood-curdling threats. He makes sure to keep up his god-like appearance. To receive a message from Grendel is to experience an... ordeal.
He loves best to inspire courage in others, and, if not to be admired, then to be revered, even if it is in terror of his true shape. He tends to get caught up in the stories of others and will often shadow the people he meets to keep track of their adventures. He might even offer help, if one compliments him enough.
