Bastet was once a feared and all powerful being worshiped for her prowess in war. However, her viciousness perturbed the other gods, and they turned against her, tearing away her powers and sentencing her to be earthbound. Her punishment was reinforced with the responsibility of caring for the humans she had subjugated. Bast was forced to take the form of a simple maiden, in her new role as a deity of healing, the much honored and beloved Breeze of Spring. Where she is currently settled on earth, she is better known as the shrine maiden called Brea, and the human civilians believe her healing powers to be a sign that she is blessed by the gods. Local worshipers go to her for advice and aid. Brea performs her duties with gravity, and has become a very talented healer. Over the years, she even regained a few of her former powers, of form changing and elemental transmutation, which she practices in secret. However, hidden in her mind, out of sight of the gods who imprison her, her feral nature seethes, and vindictive plots ravage the turmoil of her heart. She may appear to be a demure source of wisdom for now, but one day she will have her revenge.
