Flannery is definitely the definition of optisim. Unlike Countess, her sister*, she always manages to find the very best out of every situation. Miss Hathaway smiles at every one she sees on the streets, no matter how homely or angry they look. "Make every day worth living. Forget regret, or life is yours to miss,**" she says.

Flannery is very bright spirited, and always has been. Bright colors and happy music has always kept her attention. She very much enjoys laughing, and believes strongly in the rumor that laughing is the best way to prevent lung cancer. She is also very outspoken. She speaks whatever is on her mind, which never gets her in trouble because she tends not to think bad thoughs, unlike her pessimistic family.

Flannery is not all perfect, though. She is very naive, and blind to anything dark. Although she is affiliated with Tormented, she pretends like the evil things that she does don't exist. Murder, thievery, betrayal - they just don't exist in her fantasy world. Countess - who has a soft spot for Flannery - tries to gently persuade her that they exist, but she refuses to listen and blots it out with "rainbow and glitter."

If given the situation, it's possible for Flannery to turn into a "black swan" of sorts. Where as she is a "white swan" 99.9% of the time, it's found that when something devastating happens to her, it's never good. When Flannery was 15, her friend Stella was brutally killed. (NEVER bring this up in conversation with Flan.)
