Pet Profile
Boxed Apocalyptic 11th of January 2010, 3:10pm MisticTime
Famine walked slowly and calmly through the row of guards which flanked him on both sides. He focused his gaze past his brothers, he showed no repect for them. Which is what got him in this predicement in the first place.
Famine was the youngest of four brothers, his other brothers were the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. War, Pestilence and Death. They had lived many years deep in the earth, waiting patiently for the fall of mankind.
Each had their own task, War would break any alliances that humans had made, and begin a grand war on a global scale. Next Famine would slink across the land, and starve the crops and animals of food and water. And so doing, starving mankind.
Next would come Pestilence, and he would spread disease and plague through the land. And next Death would ride, and touch those who were no longer for this world.
Now they must wait for the right time for the downfall of man, but Famine was impatient. He wanted badly to begin the Apocalypse himself, to ride out and wreak havoc on the world. He had spent many times thinking of how he would erupt from the earth and absorb all of the worlds nutrients and starve the land.
Famine decided to ask his brothers if they could start the Apocalypse, instead of having to wait for it to happen.
'My brothers' He began, 'For too long the humans have poisoned the earth and its animals, and thought up new ways to destroy each other. Is it not time that we should ride out now? When they are at their destructive peak?' His brothers looked at one another,
'Famine' Said Death, in his calm, hollow voice, 'It is not time for us to ride yet, we must wait for the right moment'
'This is the right moment!' Yelled Famine, 'They are destroying the Earth, and each other. They have even began plans on a neculear war! Now i the time for us to ride'
At the mention of the war, War himself turned sharply to Famine,
'How do you know of this war? Only I may know of the their military capabilites.' Now all his brothers were looking down at him. Each of them were to watch only a certain aspect of the goings on on Earth. War, of course, knew of how close the humans were to starting new wars, and of their military weapons. Pestilence knew of the plagues and diseases that Man was allready suffering from, so that he could bring a new diseas with him when he rode. And Death knew, of which humans were to die.
Famine should only know of the best places to infect the crops and livestock, he should not know of anything else.
'Have you been to the surface?' Asked Pestilence. Famine shifted slightly,
'I was inspecting a new crop the humans had made' Famine replied, 'I had to see how they grew it' Death glared down at him,
'We are not allowed on the surface untill the time is right, you know this Famine!' he glared down at Famine. 'You will be kept under close watch form no on, you are never to go anywhere without a guard'
For the next few days, there wa much unrest between the brothers. Famine refused to speak to War, Pestilence, and Death. Though War and Pestilence tried to speak to him. Death was too busy sending out his Reapers to bring back the souls of the dead. Famine was outraged. How dear Death speak to him like he was a common demon. He was a Horseman!
One day Famine had had enough. He had been managing to spy on the surface with the aid of a Spirit he had managed to twist and manipulate. He named the spirit, Scarce, and Scarce was very loyal to Famine. He would come back from the surface and whisper into Famine's ear about the surface.
The humans were still destroying the Earth, and the nuclear war still seemed on the horizon. Famine decided it was time, if he had to, he would ride out alone. He instantly set upon killing his guard and making his way to his horse. He patted the thin bony creature, its deep sunken eyes seeming to never see.
Famine mounted his horse and rode him out towards the gate which led to the surface, he went full gallop not stopping for any of the demon guards, who tried in vain to stop him. Famine leapt through the gate, which become transulcant and viscous as he galloped through. And then he felt the sun.
Famine was excited now that he was on the surface, he pulled his horse from its head long gallop and allowed it to rest for a moment. He grinned as he looked around the world, he sent out Scarce to find a suitable crop filled area so that he could begin to poison the land.
Scarce came back a short while later, and whispered that there were many farms in the area.
'Well done Scarce' Famine praised his young spirit, 'Now lead the way.' With Scarce gliding onwards, Famine took a quick look over hsi shoulder. No one was there. Once I've started draining the world they'll see now is the time we attack, he thought.
In no time at all Famine was digging his long thin fingers into the earth, and draining away the nutrients. He also drained the vitamins and minerals in the crops, even if the humans managed to eat it, they would get no energy from them. He and his horse followed Scarce from farm to farm, from crop field to crop field, turning the area into a brown, withered desert.
Famine was in his elemnt, he drew on all the knowladge he had gained from his many years of training. He drained the healthiest part of a crop, and drained away the essential nutrients that humans needed to survive. In a matter of hours he had struck at least twenty farms, and each farm had many fields of ripe produce that would have been perfect to sell. Famine sat on his horse, with Scarce at his shoulder, an he looked down at his work and laughed.
But his joy was short lived, suddenly his horse reared on its hind legs. Famine tried to calm it, untill he looked down. The earth beneath him was bubbling over, and shadowy hands reached up and began dragging him and his horse down. Famine yelled out in suprise, but before he could even begin to fight off the demons, they dragged him down.
Famine awoke to see that he was chained to a wall, he blinked in the darkness and tried to stand.
'Don't move Famine' said a voice. Famine looked up to see War standing over him, War had a slight red glow around him.
'I can do what I like' mumbled Famine, he managed to drag himself up and he leaned against the wall.
'What were you thinking!?' yelled War,
'It was our time! The humans have doomed themselves!' replied Famine. War shook his head,
'Death and Pestilence are waiting.'
So now Famine was standing before his brothers, the usually calm Death looking enraged.
'Famine, you have broken the one law that we follow. Which is to wait for the right time to begin the Apocalypse' Famine just rolled his eyes,
'Now is the perfect time!' He yelled, 'Now is our time' Death shook his head,
'Now is not our time Famine, we must bee patient and wait. Which is something you clearly can't do. So it has been decided.' Death walked over to a trap door, he opened it to reveal a swirling vortex. 'You are to be exiled untill further notice'
Famine started to laugh, he looked around at his brothers faces. They looked serious,
'Oh please, you can't exile me. I will be needed to help bring the Apocalypse. he said smuggly.
'True Famine, but untill that day arrives you shall be sent to another world, to hopefully calm down' replied Death. Famine was angry, he kicked and attacked the demons which now surrounded him. They dragged hi mtowards the vortex, and threw him in.
While Famine fell through the vortex, his body began to change. He realized that he was turning into some sort of water animal. He grew fins and a tail, but they were broken, and the fins seemed strangely long. He fell and landed into an ocean. He swam himself to the surface, and made his way to the nearest bit of land. Famine looked about him and snarled,
'I shall infect this world. I shall show my brothers, they can't stop me!' Scarce had managed to follow Famine into the vortex, and they both looked down onto the unsespecting world known as Mistica.
