Name: Dumah
Pronunciation:"do-mah"
Alias/Title:The Banished King, Lord of Mirages, the Fool's Shepherd, the Spiteful One, etc.
Age: Immortal. Typically appears to be in his late 30s.
Gender: No set gender, but assumes a male form more often as most of his depictions over the centuries have shown him as a man.
Race: Formerly called one of the Marid, a powerful subset of jinn. Seen as a demon in some cultures.
Profession: "Loan shark," by his own description.
Morality: Fluctuates between Lawful Evil and Neutral Evil.
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual.
Relationship Status: Single. Not looking for attachments.
Appearance
Dumah isn't bound to any particular physical form, and will often alter his appearance depending on who he interacts with. In his "natural" state, he appears only vaguely humanoid, with pitch black skin, no defined facial features save for eyes of ethereal blue light and a wide mouth full of pointed teeth, and an enormous pair of black feathered wings.
(The description below applies to his preferred human appearance.)
Hair: Salt and pepper. Shaved close to the skin.
Eyes: Dark brown. Occasionally change to the unnatural blue of his true form.
Complexion: Dark brown.
Structure: With a height of 6'4" and a broad-shouldered, muscular build, Dumah cuts an undoubtedly imposing figure, while managing to remain nondescript enough to avoid attracting unwanted attention.
Additional Information
Abilities: Dumah in his prime was a force of nature, twisting and shaping the world around him to suit his desires. He raised elaborate palaces from the sand, conjured armies of loyal, tireless soldiers and servants from thin air, and turned the elements themselves against his enemies.
After his fall and centuries of imprisonment, his powers are substantially weaker, but still a force to be reckoned with. His elemental magic is still largely intact, and while he can no longer conjure objects from nothing, he can transform existing materials to his liking. (e.g. turning sand or stone into gold, men into animals, etc.) And while he was never omniscient, he does possess an insight into the desires and intentions of mortals.
Weaknesses: Consecrated iron was used to bind him and suppress his powers, and prolonged exposure to it weakens him further over time. Also, like many other demonic creatures in folklore, he is bound by his own word to deliver on the promises he makes, and he has a fondness for games and wagers.
Personality:True to his nature, Dumah is a proud entity, and even in his weakened state he believes himself to be vastly superior to any mortal. Yet unlike others of his kind, he rarely goes out of his way to be needlessly cruel to "lesser" beings. Even those who have suffered consequences from making deals with him are not made to suffer out of cruelty, but more often out of apathy. In Dumah's eyes, if they truly wished to take advantage of the offer he gave them, they would have taken the time to properly consider their requests.
