History/Intro/Story
A peal of laughter rang through the air as a little girl ran through the streets, arms extended, trying to catch a much larger shape running infront of her. In one small hand a string was grasped, the string attached to a lamb on wheels. It rattled haphazardly down the cobblestone street, threatening to tip over at any moment.
The small black shoes tapped the stones, adding to the rattle in the noise as she pursued what was just out of her reach. A large grin and blonde curls flying, the girl kept picking up her feet and put them down, always on the heels of the form. The stones soon turned to wooden planks, a hollow sound now resounding.
Finally stopping, the girl bent over, resting her hands on her knees, panting. "Thomas!" She called out, blue eyes searching for the boy who escaped her. "Where are you? We shouldn't be on the docks." Something came up behind her and grabbed her by the waist, swinging her up and turning her around so she she could see the face of her older brother, Thomas.
"But you have always wanted to see the docks, haven't you Ellie?" He asked, still holding her above his head, a smile on his face. "Yes..." She giggled and looked at him, grinning again, "I promise not to tell father if you will show me around." He set her down, her feet resting on the wood once more.
"Okay Ellie, but stay close." Thomas began to stride down the docks towards the water and the boats. Ellie hurried behind, her little lamb clacking after her. They reached the end, staring out at the sea. Ellie was mesmerized by the sight. She tilted her head to the side and frowned a little, not sure what was on the water. The thing was getting closer, a wave big enough to wash over the side of the dock.
Before Ellie could move to safety and grab hold of Thomas the wave swept over the boards, knocking the girl down and dragging her into saltwater. She screamed before submerging, water filling her mouth, ears, and nose. Yet through it all she still held onto her lamb.
Struggling to the surface she saw Thomas holding his hand out, calling her name. She paddled over there and reached for the outstretched hand but it disappeared. She felt fingers twine into her pale locks and next thing she knew she was underwater again, being held there, unable to resurface. With another scream, which only produced bubbles, the girl passed out.
Bobbing on top was a little toy lamb, the string leading under the water to where it was still grasped in a tiny fist.
