Once, there was a powerful god. Xe had once been worshipped by countless people, but as time passed, the awe with which Xyr name was spoken became diminished and the candles on Xyr shrines burned out.

Seeking to remind the mortals of Xyr strength, the god descended to Earth. Xe asked for the faith of humans, and as so often happens when man is faced with divinity, Xe received it. But in return for this favor, Xe granted humanity no more consideration than the eagle shows to each twig that contributes to its nest. The god used Xyr power indiscriminately for Xyr own pleasures, taking no notice of the anguish Xe inflicted on Xyr own followers.

The god, changeless, descended to Earth and demanded that Earth change for Xem. Humans bowed to Xem and humans bent for Xem, and finally humans broke for Xem.

But while gods may be immortal, faith is not. And when a god refuses to learn, humans will.
