History: Dis is a chain smoking, alcoholic, lecherous demon. He loves horrible pick up lines and bright, agonizing, clashing colors. He's the worst punster you will ever meet. Dis is, truth to tell, the most irritating demon ever to walk upon the earth or under it.
He once was an angel, beautiful and haughty, a Seraph of the highest order. His name then was Azazel. However, he would not bow to man when God ordered it: "I am better than he," he exclaimed to his creator, "I Thou created out of fire, and he Thou created out of clay." The Authority punished Azazel for his insolence, banishing the bright angel to the earth. Azazel became bitter and angry and by the time his punishment was over he hated God and all that He stood for, and he joined with Lucifer in his rebellion. God cast them down, and Azazel lost one pair of his bright wings, the other four wings were charred black and stained with blood.
Azazel changed his name to Iblis, for had he himself not changed? No longer was he the proud, beautiful angel, but an embittered, resentful demon.
Iblis wandered in the desert, slaying any who dared approach him. He roamed the earth for millenia, taking out his anger and hatred on all around him, but one cannot stay angry forever, even a demon.
He finally stopped caring about the war that took place so long ago. He began to mingle with the humans he had before merely killed and found them to be entertaining. He discovered a love for strong drink and became a bit of a womanizer. Once, while speaking to an Italian poet, he revealed his demonic nature and told the poet his name... The poet was, apparently, hard of hearing and so in his poem he called Iblis merely "Dis." The demon liked this name and began to call himself by it.
And so he entered the twenty first century, drinking and discovering a love of cigarettes which remind him so much of home. If you want to find him, the best place to look is a bar or a pub.
