Collin is the only son of Bann Trevelyan. His relationship to his father is not a very good one cause he never lived up to the expectations his father did put into him. Bann wanted him to become a Templar. Darrin clearly stated that he will not be forced into a live he does not wanna live... and he get his chance when the world goes mad at the Conclave.. a peace meeting of the Templars and the Mages.

Collin is not very fond of his family and the only person he really likes is his uncle (the brother of his father).

His uncle is the only person who seems to understand Jarik and that he does not want to be another "toy" of the chantry.
