nothing special it is to behold.
Seen by others,
allure, beauty, and warmth: far more precious than gold.
Such a breath-taking sweater,
one handled with care,
though never neglected,
a small stain here or there.
I was about to leave
when a breeze took hold,
wafting the scents of summer, laughter, and love
right under my nose.
It was a luxury, a gift.
That could be seen by all,
but none more so,
than by a man so small.
A cashmere sweater
found on a line in the yard.
So perfect, so coveted
not the slightest bit marred.
I had to get closer,
just to peek, just to feel.
I slipped it on slowly,
but how could this be real?
The yard now mine,
so spacious, so green,
And from the line
it seemed more fantasy than dream.
The sweater slipped over
one shoulder , then the next,
Not too tight, not too loose,
just perfect through the chest.
The love, the warmth,
it all slipped in.
