Carol is based on the character of Carol Peletier in the comic/TV-series, The Walking Dead. To me, she represents the on-screen Carol more-so. She is extremely determined when her mind is set on something and is very protective and loyal to Rick and the rest of the main group.
It is not easy for Carol to trust anyone, this is due to the deep wounds created through an abusive relationship in the past as well as the death of her one and only daughter, Sophia.
