Personality:
Ashanti acts fairly young even though she is supposed to be a teenager. She's boisterous and friendly, happy to chat with anyone even if they were just looking for directions. She works as a street entertainer alongside her guardian Morican which turns out to be a good thing due to her specie's habit to wander off. It is a hard life but a good one, and she seems fairly normal except for one bit of creepiness:

She's into voodoo zombies. Big time. Her guardian does not approve and keeps her from studying. She doesn't know why. Zombies are the best thing ever! You don't have to eat or die again. You can stay with your loved ones forever. She could even, maybe, resurrect a large creature for Morican to pull the cart. She takes every opportunity to learn and is so convinced that she could one day resurrect someone that she'll make light of death. Even joke about it. Kinda creepy.

There is a case her behavior could stem from abandonment issues. She is a pound pet after all and she hates being alone. There are hints in her speech that she used to belong to an upper class family, but, otherwise, she won't say anything about them.
