This Month in Mistica: September ‘10
Written By Caustic
This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all - okay, most - of the information you need!
September was quite an exciting month! New items, new themes, PB giveaways, and the return of Cap’n Jack Skillow were just a few of the fun events that went on.
First, a big congratulations to the month’s art, writing and poetry contest winners: Resolve, Funny and Erizzle; eeri, Music and arcticpaw; Repose, Kite and Sami!
The same day the winners were announced, the forum for Nutrinopets refugees closed - so welcome home!
Our newest shop, Tribal Trades (accessed by going to Jumboyo Village from the Explore map and clicking on the hut decorated with a blazing yellow sun) received a large amount of new items. You can now not only find the beanbags and plushies for the koko, izabel, jumboyo and panju pets, but also a plethora of tribal themed items (clay jars, a quill, primate themed pals, etc), not to mention three new eggs, books, and stylish fleece hats!
Shortly afterwards the Storm Koko was released, unwilling to be overshadowed by its newer primate cousins!
Our profiles became even more customizable this month - yay! Text can be aligned and colored much more easily, and you can hide certain things (such as your username) to make your profile appear more streamlined. The User Info module, however, must stay clearly visible!
Misticpets also has a Facebook and Twitter - show your support by joining! Just click one of the shiny new buttons, located on the bottom of every page.
On the 6th, we celebrated one of our wonderful artist’s birthdays - Sugarfueled! That same day the lovely Oceanic Izabel splashed its way onsite! The very next day, Zen celebrated her 21st!
The 8th brought us a new collection: beanbags!
More helpful updates were added: pet names were lengthened to 18 characters, the account search function was refined, and you can even search items by descriptions via the Help Site.
The 10th was a big day indeed: the Terror Panju, Izabel and Jumboyo were all released, and RuthieRox celebrated her birthday in a creepy fashion with the release of the Tarantula Beanbag.
Charitee then started going crazy, asking for new items every other minute, it seemed! It was a great chance to build up your loyalty points. Remember to keep a close eye on her, you never know what she’ll ask for next!
Over the next few days new beanbags and pommes were released, plus a bunch of new personality traits for our wonderful pets. Personality traits can be added and/or changed here: http://www.misticpets.com/pet_brainwash.php
The 17th saw the return of Cap’n Jack Skillow. The shady pirate plagued Mistica’s shores for a good three days, messing up our forums with silly pirate talk, dumping treasure chests on our heads, and of course, chasing us away whenever we tried to dig up his treasure on the elusive Skillow Isle! Not to mention the new Pirate Collection, plus a whole new horde of pirate items that Makoto is surely making nice profits off of.
New items were added to the referral shop, including exotic food - so start recruiting your friends!
A whole horde of Pandoria Boxes were then given away over the next few days, closing out September on a very, very happy note!
That’s it for now - watch for This Month in Mistica: October ‘10 in next month’s Chronicles!
