MAN Update: Sprites vs. Imps '10!
Written By M.A.N. Team
Good evening, Mistica. This is Ken Kratork with Mistican Action News.
Unless you’ve been living in the cold, unloving vacuum of space for the past month or so, you are probably well aware of this year’s confrontation between the Sprites and Imps of Mistica. Most of you have probably even joined a side. Now here at Mistican Action News, we try to bring you as unbiased a news report as possible. We include only the facts, with as little influence by opinion as possible. So I am going to stick to the truth, and only the truth:
The Imps are going down this year. Remember last year, Imps? Remember how we Sprites won? And we’re going to do it again! Nobody can stop us! Mua-ha-ha-ha-h-
Mistican Action News is experiencing some technical difficulties. We would just like to apologize for the inconvenience and thank-you for staying with us.
Ahem. Good evening, Mistica. I’m Katy Comeil, filling in for Ken Kratork who has taken an… erm… mental health day. Tonight we’ll be taking a look back on the events so far in the Sprite and Imp conflict, and explore the reasons behind the war currently being waged.
As many of us have probably already forgotten, having gotten so wrapped up in this age-old rivalry, the origins of this particular war trace back to a certain pretty pink feline whom we all know and… harbor very differing feelings about. It all started with an evil glint in his eye, when the shelves of his Lighthouse Knicknacks shop were being stocked with gold just barely fast enough to keep up with the enormous demand. Rumors surfaced of both the Imp and Sprite royalty trying to get their hands on it, and supporters and sympathizers from both sides immediately got involved, getting their hands on as much of the gold as possible so that they could donate it to their respective leaders.
Things soon began to escalate far beyond a simple bidding war for the gold when both the Imps and Sprites began sending little spies to do their dirty work and steal gold from the opposing team. This, of course, only gave the devious Makoto more ideas of how to make a quick MC: forts. For a small price, Misticans were able to buy (from him, of course) building materials to be used in the construction of forts to house and protect each team’s gold.
The other shop owners tried to put the dastardly Anya back in his place by selling the shipments of building materials in their own shops, but Makoto was one step ahead. What do you need if you want to undermine your opponent’s fort?
Bam!
Disguises. Makoto began selling parts of Imp and Sprite disguises just recently, and already they’re flying off of the shelves like hotcakes.
And that brings us to where we are today, dear Misticans: in the middle of a war that has caused our once tight community to split into two sides, fervently fighting against one another. And so far, only one of us has benefited at all from this hatred and fighting. Only one of us has been constantly instigating even more just to turn a quick profit. Mistica, do not fight Imp and Sprite! Fight the man who is the obvious cause of the war in the first place! Pick up your pitchforks and torches and fight M-
What’s that? He… he bought out the station?
Well.
Forget everything I just said, then. Resume fighting amongst yourselves. That is all, Mistica. Good-night.
